Wasn't it legal in certain parts of America at one point for a cowboy to marry his horse?
Or was that just an urban legend? if true, it certainly reduces the potential protests against same-sex marriages... ~~~~~~

Yay, more hypothetical "what if the sky falls" scenarios about gay marriage. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=6996&start=43 Can we please stop pretending this is new and we have to guess at whether anything bad is going to happen now? |

Pokermind, you can marry your cat "if and only if" you can prove that your cat is capable of suing you for divorce if it finds it necessary! Naughty Moose

Be careful. PETA will support this just so they can act as agents for cats and dogs in marriages.

I wonder if anyone's going to ask Islamic State for a comment on this?
I heard they have strong views on the subject. |

In my humble, feeble but usually correct opinion, the decision was very very wrong ... but for reasons probably non fathomable to most. The 10th Amendment is very easy reading and it is supposed to mean what it says. Very simple. This was a State Rights issue. Very bad indeed. Just me. Respectfully. HB of CJ (oldest coot)

While I agree with you philosphically. I disagree in specifics unless you chnge the federal inheritance laws and numerous income tax laws and regulations that list "married" on them. Which does make it a federally governed thing by amendment and interpetation. All of which I disagree with being there in the first place. But that is another topic. Good luck with getting any of that, I gave up. Have fun, T2M -----------------------
