Former USAF weapons-loader on F-111Ds (Canon AFB, NM) and F-111Fs (RAF Lakenheath, England), followed by factory work making television picture tubes (yeah... *that* lasted all of ten years, until LCD flat panels became all the rage).

Followed that with a year making signs (worked for the company that has the exclusive contract for all the Bob Evans signage), then spent 8 years as a security guard. Last gig was 3 years at Netflix, followed by 10 months of not working.

Currently working for David Weber's former personal assistant (and former admin of this very board) as a fabricator in her jewelry-making stores (Moonkist Designs and Moonkist Creations at Etsy.com), which she started up full-time just last year. Since I met her through BuNine (of which she's also a member), and hooked up with BuNine through Tom Pope, because he saw some of my early attempts at Honorverse 3D modeling and invited me, I suppose in a way, I have David to thank for my current employment status

Definitely the best job I've ever had, mostly due to the fact that it's not just a job, but a chance for me to do something creative that has some lasting meaning for the people who buy our products, and besides, it's fun. At 50 years old, I need all the fun I can get

Formerly Regular British Army, then Senior Investment Analyst for the London Stock Exchange's information service, moved to do much the same for a venture capital company and eventually became Company Secretary there after studying at their expense. Carried on in same post for the company that took it over, then took early pension and did various local jobs to avoid the long commute. Those included chief of liaison with pension regulator for a pension company sorting out old problems, and public relations manager for a food company that eventually decided it couldn't afford to pay the lineage bonuses I was entitled to for generating so much good press coverage. Now happily self-employed non-fiction article and book writer and book editor about military subjects and model-making. Not very profitable but a lot more fun and it's only an addition to my pension!
Cheers
