No, its pretty much a universal thing with the Saudi's. That was 1 of 17 accidents in one day of which 14 were fatal or extremely injury serious. IIRC 5 deaths 2 quadriplegic 3 paraplegic and 1 veggie.

That brings to mind a story I'm rather fond of concerning a visit by the previous King of Saudi Arabia to Balmoral, the Queen's estate in Scotland. I worked in Saudi Arabia for 36 & 1/2 years and I can tell you no matter what happens the driving idiocy bug is always passed on.

You wouldn't be-leave the outlandish colors you could see in SA. I remember an electric lime green Land Rover, a day-glo blue Lamborghini, a cherry red and purple tiger striped Cadillac limo, a mint green and fire engine red BMW and a Rolls Royce Phantom II in gold leaf.

IIRC, Honor evacuated everybody not essential to actually fighting the next engagement with the Peeps. Which would have included most, if not all of the Marines. She didn't want any more bodies on Wayfarer than she absolutely had to.

Isn't that the way Land Rovers are supposed to be driven? With gusto?

I'm not criticising Her Majesty's style of driving (I'm not stupid, those corgis are vicious), I'm just remarking that it would a little alarming to someone who's accustomed to being chauffered about in an air-conditioned Roller or Bentley, on wide, smooth roads, with a police/military escort to make sure there's nothing remotely in the way.
