Destroyermen Series Warning Spoilers through Strais of Hell

Taylor Anderson's Destroyermen Series Latest book hs been out since May sixth. David Weber has recommended the series as have several other posters here. Did you know the books have their own Wiki? Here's the latest page I just finished:

Those who have finished the book may wish to try this Trivia question;

RIP in Straits of Hell. We know Simon Herring, Lt. Haan-Sor Plaar (L) commanding USS Finir-Pel and Staas-Fin, “Finny,” are dead, and given his wounds Lt. jg Gaal-Etkaa XO USS Simms is probably dead. One other named character is probably dead can you guess who? Hint he’s another Lemurian DD commander First Fleet South.

As for the book itself, while interesting news, IMHO the series went from "Good" to "Bit above Meh" when Anderson introduced the natural-born(?) human/Catian hybrids.
For someone who tried so damn hard to stick to the laws of physics and biology up to that point, introducing hybrid offspring with species that evolved in different realities(!) was rather jarring.
I'm an amateur writer myself and in my story Reality Bridge, I made a point of showing that hybrids between differing species were almost impossible without some extremely advanced technology even if I did play rather fast and loose with technological advancement (and linguistics) in the F'Linian reality.
If Anderson comes up with a biologically-believable rationale for the bi-species offspring (other than A Wizard Did It), the series may rise up again in my list of things to read.
