Compliance testing technician, "specializing" in Electo-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC). Lately, though, I've been reviewing standards (EN, European Norm, and ANSI/IEEE) and comparing them to work instructions.

Unemployed former computer Geek.

Retired at 35 and just haven't wanted to work anymore.

Spent 9 years as the full time care giver to my aged parents until their passings.

Personal Day Trader slowly running out of funds and may have to go back to being a computer geek to pay the rent.

Write some stuff but nothing published, yet.

Class A procrastinator.

Hmm... Custom's inspector... Always dutifully avoided those sorts of fellows upon return to home port. Then again, the inspectors we usually got didn't typically stick around too long. Just long enough to collect our declarations then depart.

Naturally we ALWAYS had nothing to declare. :)

28 years old computer science graduate. Currently working at Havana University informatization department. Thinks that a large bomb would improve the government. Also, atheist.

Absolutely voracious reader. If it's got letters, it's got my attention.

Systems design engineer for a semiconductor capital equipment company. Spend my days figuring out how to find ridiculously tiny flaws in printed circuitry on silicon wafers really really fast and cursing Moore's law (which is less a prediction in our industry and more a slave-driving ever moving goalpost of a performance requirement...)

I used to be an engineer actually finding production flaws when those careful designs meet things like IMP coil peels. But real production engineering requires less and less people as we move from 4 to 8 to 12 to 16 inch wafers.

But then I did yet more school.

I've been a lab geek for display companies, process engineer for a DRAM company, and lots more minor jobs including tutoring, grading, lifeguarding, and lots of filing.

So at this point I have degrees in chemical engineering and physics, a failed stab at a physics phd, and a law degree.

Now I do patent law.

1st employment, librarian. But boss there was stupid, that was in 1990 and i was without any doubt the most computer capable person at the library, but oh noes, i was not allowed to do anything with THAT... *lol*

Anyway, from that, very soon onwards to various computer support and/or language/proofreading/translation jobs, more often than not for schools.

Done some digitizing of historical records(really obnoxious due to demands of 100% accuracy, no mistakes allowed at all).

A little bit of programming for local events.

Worked a few jobs doing historical research with some local history society´s and museums.

And a short detour as a photo-analyst.

Now mostly(officially, unofficially, completely) retired due to chronic health issues getting worse over time since i was 10.
