I have a feeling that Havenites are going to be called Peeps for a while. After all, Native Americans are still called Indians.

[quote="Kizarvexis"]Ok, the Solarian League citizens are still Sollys. SEM citizens are Manties. Andermani Empire citizens are Andies. Citizens of Mesa are Mesans. Secondary Citizens of Mesa are Seccies. Medusans are Stilties. People born on Earth are Terrans.
-------------- Like the USA prior to the un-Civil War, many Solarans will see themselves as identifying with their system or regional sector rather than the League as a whole -- I can see Mayans and Madras sector identities as the independence (and interdependence) movement develops. -- Stewart |

Haven might play off of the "Republic" part of their name (like Peeps played of the, now dropped, "People's" part). So "Rebs", or "Pubies", or the like. Grayson nicknames could play off either "Protectorate" or the Protector's Sword symbol. Or going off the name of their civilians "Steaders" could lead to "Steadies" (which come to think of it could play to the stereotype that they're still a bit backwards; aka slow to adapt. Which is of course nonsense; but when did stereotypes have to be correct?) Just throwing some random thoughts out there. |

I think 'Pubes' would do a great job being insulting! |

Havenites: Havsies (pronounced similar to halfsies)
Beowulf: Wolfers (too obvious to not be used) Graysons: 'Manders or Harries (for our favorite leading lady of war) |

And citizens of Havenite systems other than Haven? Have nots. Beomulfers become: Woofers. Loud and irritating noise makers. Graysons are Harriers. Actually why bother? Sollies confuse everybody in the area with Manties. |
