I don't think there it:s very likely that there will be actual archangels around to be handing out energy weapons. AIs, perhaps. PICAs, maybe. Copies of some archangels personality? Possibly.

But the archangels themselves are as dead as the original Nimue Alban.

Hey, n7axw... I have a question for you. I have seen you state that you are a preacher. So, since you are a person of faith... what is YOUR theory as to the "soul" of Nimue Alban? Did her soul move on when she died? Did it wait around to be awakened with her PICA to continue her life and Journey?

Just curious as to your perspective. If you don't want to put it out on this forum, for public consumption, feel free to PM it to me if you desire to answer.

There is text evidence for energy weapons from OAR if I recall correctly. Something about an angel killing a slash lizard with one.

I just re-read OAR and don't recall that.

I am unaware of anything in the Bible or elsewhere that would allow me to rule on the question one way or the other.

That being said, I'm willing to go with Maikel Staynair's affirmation that Merlin and Nimue have souls.

Defining the word "soul" definitively is one of those things that can be very difficult. Even the Bible what we have isn't consistant. But if we accept that what a soul represents is the core of what makes a person a person, then perhaps we can count three souls (so far) under the rubric of Nimue Alban. There would be Nimue Alban who dies in defense of Old Earth. Then there is Merlin who woke up as Nimue in the cave and assumed the identity of Merlin to begin his mission. And finally, we have Nimue (whose last name I'm not going to attempt to spell) whose main mission at this time focuses upon the safety of Irys and Daivyn in Corisande.

All these are very fine people who demonstrate their personhood in very distinct ways. There is no reason that I can see to deny that any of them have souls, however irregular how they came to be what they are might be.

The problem with that textev is this. There is no guarantee that any of the TF level weapons, including energy weapons, were stored anywhere. Just like we don't know what happened to all those fabrication units, or the Hamilcar... :D
