My bet is the sea ol going to main land, to fuel their oil needs. It would be ages before hteir industry would need so much that it is detromental to ocean sea life.
oil will akways be heavy in demand, so multiple sources is always good. selling the main land kracken products is better than selling guns.

Dunno Syed. Siddarmark's industrial capacity is small right now. But if they emulate the EOC, it's going to grow rapidly and they have more people and natural resourses. Their demand for oil could swamp the available supply in a fairly short time frame.

So would they want to waste their refined and processed oil supplies, or would they rather just kill a buch of danergour predators and sell the oil? With the prper weapons and iron hulled ships, it would be far easier to achieve.

They will want to do what is most economical which probably means drilling and refining for oil. The supply to be obtained from the sea is too limited to support a major industrial effort.

Since the main use of "kraken" oil, whichever sea creature it comes from, is for burning in lamps, the introduction of gas lighting in the cities, as is being done in Tellesberg, will drastically cut into that demand.

There's a lot of petroleum on Safehold, and it's much safer and easier to extract it for fuel and lubricants than chasing down huge marine predators!

the kracken hunting fleets are apparently big business, so instead of destroying them, help advance them at the same time as oil is gained from other sources. oil today is accepted all around the world. Charisian coinage and republic bank drafts might not be accepted, but oil will.
they might not accept crude oil due to it being new, but kracken oil can be said to come from any where.
