Since i seem to be generating some confusion here on relax's part a little quick model of the original concept, (the new one goes to a full drum instead of a cam and shortens the arm to allow for more revolutions).

The red bit is the weight and it's connected to the green bit via chains/ropes.

Whilst as i think my proof showed back on page 1 you can easily convert to radial reference with it the motion is linear.

That said yes the rest of the system is radial as you say relax.


Also i apologise for the shocking level of simplicity Relax, don;t have any actual CAD software and Wings is playing up acting jerky for some reason :(.

Yes, I was basing my statements off of your posted trebuchet model, not your chain weight model with no sling as that was what we were discussing. Appears, MAD4A is talking your orig post and only orig post where there is no sling at all and it is a pure rotational problem.

IF that is the case, then solving such a system is quite simple. It is the sling that is hard to model as it is not linear and trebuchets as their weight on an arm are not linear for energy transfer.

Ermm that is the design we where discussing Relax. I simply haven't modeled the sling on the end of the long arm as A) ropes are a bit beyond wings 3D's capabilities. And B) as i said the program was acting up massively.
