I was checking OAR for something, and I came across this passage.
Unfortunately"--Pei Kau-yung's expression turned sad once again--"the only last-generation PICA belonging to anyone we knew we could trust was yours, and there wasn't time to acquire another. AOR Page 42. While there have been numerous discussions on this before, I don't remember seeing anyone calling out this quote. Knowing RFC's joy in deception, it makes me wonder again if there isn't another PICA still around from the other side of the War of the Fallen that might not turn up at some point in the near future. |

That is sweet! It seems to give at least some credence to PICA speculation.

RFC has pretty emphatically ruled out the notion of a PICA other than Nimue's coming from old earth itself, if not in the textev, then in comment either in the pearls or in a post on the forums.
His way of sending us down blind alleys has never been by outright lying, but by dishing out incomplete information that comes before an unexpected twist in the plot or by not correcting speculation which is leading us down a blind alley on our own. At any rate, he has ruled on this one and the answer is no. However, he has not to the best of my knowledge ruled out the idea of another PICA being built by the command crew at some point after arrival upon Safehold. Don When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.
