First and most, health first, I concur with all the others' advice.

Second, the Nynian Rychtyr here is a mistake and should read Nimue Chweriau, no ?

It's not a mistake. Nynian has eidetic memory (photographic memory by any other name)

And I state that RFC should stop running and start sending one of his healthy kids to fetch the celery for him :D :D .

If other seijin could have become paranoid, they might have hidden something away. The men they made into warriors were likely all highly trained soldiers.
I wonder if htey attempted to remove t khody's body with the raikurai as all other attempts to do it secretly failed. THey might have been afraid of what the seigins remembered, and hteir neats might have contained infor, especially if they were used to alter the person.

RFC wrote:“That might explain why Owl and I couldn’t find a single original copy of a diary or journal written by a seijin in any of the library catalogs we were able to check,” Nahrmahn said thoughtfully. “If the Church — or the command crew’s survivors, at any rate — realized the seijins were having unexplained flashes of ‘false memory,’ censoring them after the fact would make a lot of sense.”

3 things
1. They couldn't find originals; it says nothing about copies, exact or otherwise

2. How many and which catalogs could they actually check? - It's not like they could ask Mr Google

3. The church seems to have been happy for the memory of Seijins to mostly degenerate into folk tales.

There would have been no need for rakurai. In Zion, they had Kohdy in their power. A needle with an overdose of morphine offered to relax the poor guy's nerves would have done the job nicely.

Don

Which leaves me with a nagging question. If Kohdy knew or could piece together enough to want to speak to Someone High Up about it, why did he go to Zion at all, knowing that he would most likely not be coming back?

Oh, I get it. It's awkward phrasing. The "(or any PICA)" implies that Nynian is a PICA. Hence why Braude thought the subject of the sentence was supposed to be Nimue since Nynian is definitely NOT a PICA.

I don't know that I would call it awkward, but I would call it ambiguous. I think that the phrase, "any other PICA" would imply that Nynian is a PICA, but the phrase, "or any PICA" could be used either way.

In an early snippet, Nynian said Khody went to see Schueler, because he trusted him to tell the truth.

Either that trust was misplaced [or at least misdirected: "I'll tell you the truth, but then I'm going to have to kill you"], Khody didn't get to Schueler in the first place, or Schueler was not in a position to protect him. Of the 3 possibilities, I'm very, very slightly inclined to the last. Even the first, however, isn't at all unlikely: if it seems inconsistent with the man who made the Wylsynn's recording, don't forget that that man was willing to fight a war to preserve his version of the Plan. Cutting down a friend to continue to preserve it is of a piece with that.

It does depend on the reader keeping score, but don't forget that this will normally be read soon after the previous visits with this set of characters, so that wouldn't be as difficult as it seems to be at snippet pace. The details of who's who will still be fresh.

Well, HFQ official snippet #5 says, in relevant part,:

“He never wrote down his intentions — unless he did it in Español — but the Sisters’ tradition is that he’d decided to take his questions directly to the Archangel Schueler, the Archangel he most trusted to answer him fully. Whether that’s true or not, he made a final trip to Zion . . . and died there.”

So I'm inferring Kohdy thought there was a chance the he would get a full answer, a chance to live through it, and that there was one Archangel that he had at least partial trust in.
