Langhorne "happens" to be the middle name of Samuel Clemens.
Is there an "Easter egg" in there somewhere?

Yeah. Still, sometimes a name is just a name, and with all the myriad associations any of them may carry, an author with any one or ten of them in mind may not hit on the same one or ten any of us trip on.

It would be interesting if the millennial return was a canned Langhorne personality. It still begs the question of why such a long wait before the first check up.
