So, what would happen if an impeller field from a missile hits a Warshawski sail? Would it overload the nodes, or would it absorb the unleashed energy? What if it hit just as the ship was entering a junction terminus?

Could be an interesting plot line.....

Warshawski sails are basically reconfigured impeller wedges. I would thus assume that it would have the same effect as any other missile hitting the wedge: nothing.

Also, if a ship is entering a hyper bridge, it is well within the area around the terminus that is full of gravity waves. These would cause the impeller nodes on the missile to fail catastrophically. There is literally no place in the Honorverse where a ship must use a W sail that it can be hit by a wedge of any type.

It would be an inteesting solution to someone crossing your T, though it would still leave your stern exposed

And require ceasing to accelerate.
Also, I'm not sure how long it take to transition from wedge to sail - or at least not from actively accelerating hard with your wedge, to having a sail up.

Could be an amusing trick, but it wouldn't stop your aft hammerhead from getting shredded - which might itself knock out the aft sail. And missiles could still overfly you to take snap laserhead shots at your broadside, your now exposed virtually unarmored dorsal and ventral surfaces, or by flying past both sail your forward hammerhead.

IOW it doesn't seem like it'd buy you much time. (And of course if you have a sternwall you'd be better off raising that as it'd provide protection to your aft hammerhead while retaining the wedge and normal sidewalls that protect your top, bottom, and broadsides. (Though you still lose the ability to accelerate while it's up -- unless its a buckler wall; but then it gives far less coverage against laser-heads)
