No groveling or whining before Friday. Snippet probably comes Sunday. Now we'll see if I'm a prophet.(Probably not.) :D

I presume we're the ones being trained... Well, should that be the case, just for the sake of keeping things unpredictable, it would be nice for him to go short once in a while instead of long...

Of course he's listening! Were I a clever author who dished out snippets on a somewhat random interval of 10-21 days, I'd wait until the discussions (which might give me some good plot ideas) died down and the begging for the next snippet began in earnest. ;)

Since RFC has finished the book, nothing we suggest, debate, or prognosticate now will happen in HFQ, except for our educated and lucky guesses, but that doesn't mean that he may or may not mine a nugget or two from our extensive discussions for the next book. Then again, he probably uses our comments for his own entertainment, since it is his sandbox we're playing in... After all, he did post a rather long explanation for PeterZ and me about why the ICN couldn't seize the Gulf of Dohlar and take out Gorath two books ago, so he does pay attention. (And chuckles a lot!)

Suffice it to say that despite the rare occasions that I've been correct about a major plot point, or even a minor one, I've never thought that anything I said or suggested while he was writing the next book in this series has ever led to him using any of my ideas. The closest I came was when I suggested putting Nimue's personality into an AI as a character named "Nimue," which he said would be too confusing, so I suggested naming that character "Guinevere," which he thought was "clever." Of course he put Nimue's personality in a PICA instead and called her Nimue anyway!) Beware of RFC when he becomes "helpful!"

I should have stood my ground and insisted that we'd see a new PICA the second OWL said he could only build one of them...

Ok, time for the obligatory begging. Please sir, may we have another snippet?

Bleek? ;)

"Oh bother", said Pooh as he glanced through the airlock window at the helmet he'd forgotten to wear.

FYI: You do know that the Phoenix rises from the ashes - however, I am not ready for a flying Piglet!

As for snippet hunger - I am ravenous!

Sorry, my tagline is a reference to the TV show "Supernatural," where the standard method to get rid of a ghost is to dig up the body, then cover the bones with salt, and finally add gasoline and a lit Shan-Wei's candle to incinerate the remains.

I've got a list of 30 or so "Oh bother" sayings that I'm working my way through as my tagline to hopefully give RFC a laugh, since his tagline for ages has been "Oh bother" said Pooh as Piglet came back from the dead...

My favorite so far has been "Oh bother!" said Pooh, "I never should have taken that class in necromancy!"

Not on the author it ain't and I'd rather he was using the time to get another mainline Honor book out. Last I saw, the Manticorian fleet had arrived at Mesa and should be on the verge of discovering the main rotters have exited stage left. I'd like for that story line to progress too. Safehold is not the only series that David is siphoning my wallet with. Snippets are nice, but if they distract da author from getting more writing done than I'll wait for the book. I've got lots of other things to read! And if I still have free time I assure you my wife will find something that needs fixing, painting, scraping, cleaning, or working on. Husbands are for chores to her thinking.
