But they're also a bear to get just right. Ordinary gas explosions, OTOH, while less damaging happen all the time. Delthak is spread across several square miles. Coke oven gas explosions have leveled smelters before now.
The level of safety controls used now is built on the bodies of a very large number of workers. Its damage to the workers that is hard to replace.

While there might be disasters, I doubt they will be able to full pull off the largest kind. The main industrialist is not only using the most advanced of techniques, but has instituted a wide range of standards concerning safety, quality control and other similar factors. All that monitoring is sure to be an interference to any one attempting to cause sabotage on a large scale. and with his example and the sheer profit and capability it demonstrates, other industrialists are sure to attempt to copy/mimic his practises.
