I and several of my friends really enjoy the Safehold series. I now read almost everything in electronic format, but the maps in the electronic books are just about worthless. If we could get some good pdf maps for the Safehold books that are still high fidelity on zooming in, it would make the story lines much easier to follow. It would be nice to see where the canals, mountain ranges, cities, etc. are in relation to each other.
I've looked at the maps I could find by searching the forums, and they're better that what we can see in the electronic books, but they still fall short. They get too fuzzy on zooming in to be readable. Thank you, John |

That is quite a big file...
Nice work on the zoom function, though. Two thumbs up! ~~~~~~

This is the best yet. Is there anyway to make the zoomable window larger, so that it can fill more of my screen? I could not figure out if that is possible.

If you're running Windows, Ctrl-'+' or hold the control key and scroll your mouse-wheel. .

while we are asking about maps, what I would really really like is little animated maps that would show you how the various navies and armies were moving around, allow you to zoom in to battlefield maps, and generally provide the perfect way to follow the stories.
I suspect I might be asking a bit too much, though! |

I'm working on animating the very crude map I made of LAMA showing this sort of stuff with synfig. HUGE job to learn the program from scratch plus learn animation techniques. May have it available by the fall!!! No promises. Anyway, you can find messy map notations at http://www.nfgarland.ca/Safehold_MTnT2.jpg You need to zoom in to see the annotations. |

Right click on 'One Big File' and 'save file/link as ...' to download the 19MB map to your m/c as a JPG. Then you can view it fullscreen in your favourite photo viewing program and zoom in to your heart's content. (It's not as if the online version is updated every book or anything. Hint! Hint! ) |
