Hi All,

What would be your Dream cast if money were no object?

Something like

George Clooney : Hamish Alexander

Russell Crowe : Benjamin Mayhew

Sandra Bullock : Cathy Montaigne


Feel free to suggest more than one character for each actor.

Character must be based on what the actor is like as of 01-01-2015.

NB: I originally posted this on the Evergreen forum but decided as it was not really anything to do with the film/TV series they are working on, that it should be in the general Honorverse forum.

Interesting post. I for one would try to cast unknowns who can act very well and who more physically meet the descriptions of the various characters as presented in the various Novels.

Have them read the books, get involved, then let them decide exactly how to act that character. It would be so easy to spend $200 million (or more) on a Honorverse film.

It would be much harder to spend only a small fraction of that amount. Little blue screen. Little computer animation. Just an excellent script, story board and a good director.

Let the actors act. How in the world can one movie of about 100 minutes even do justice to even just one novel in the Honorverse setting? Very hard. HB of CJ (old coot) Junior Captain.

I can't really pick actors for a live action movie, I have such solid images of the characters in my head it would be difficult if not impossible to match what I've imagined. That's the biggest hurdle I have to overcome when books are made into movies.

Putting together a list... but finally have a candidate for Honor herself, though only 5'9" which is still pretty tall for an Oriental...
