There there. Just this once, mind you, we can embrace and share a similar tear. NSA. Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense |

Cauldron of Ghosts
Torch reminds me of our very own Rainforest, since sixty percent of its surface is covered with rain forest, and the remainder was swamps, marsh and bayous. It seems appropriate that Thandi and company's descriptions reminds me of Amazonian Princesses. I suppose that would make Thandi into Xena and Helen the little Gabrielle-like sidekick. Ah, a miss. My cat-like reflexes saved me this ti— Ouch! Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. I'm now plumbing the short stories for gems, and here is one from "What Price Dreams?" by the MWW.
Crown Princess Adrienne has just been saved from assisination by her newly-adopted treecat and his friends and those friends are now on the hunt for the mastermind...
And the aftermath....

How about Last View? (in the opening chapter in "Shadow of Saganami"?
It's too long to include in one quote and would be a spoiler but there's the commandant's introduction, then Honor's speech. Then we get to sit with the graduating midshipmen and watch the whole battle section that features a recreation from tactical recordings featuring Edward Saganami's last battle. Here's the beginning of that battle sequence: Then HMS Nike turned and HMS Nike fought alone to the death against those overwhelming odds. Keep in mind, Honor's own losses and the fact that Helen Zilwicki was in the audience, and her mother was also a posthumous holder of the PMV. I love the passage SharkHunter. Actually it gives me goose bumps. But how is it a spoiler? Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense.
