Given that the RMN is busily swiping wormhole junctions, etc., I'm thinking how Basilisk, etc. grew an amount of infrastructure once the SKM really dedicated themselves to bringing it up to snuff.

I doubt we have much textev, unless there's bits inferrable from some of the short stories, etc. but it seems like the next step after grabbing the terminus might be to basically assert full control over the system, same way that CL-56 did in OBS, but with more crewing, marines, etc.

Sure. But those are not the major fleet sites and they are connected to a logistics pipeline that isn't there. I'm sure Diego Garcia can replace an engine on a F18, but I doubt they have the parts on hand to perform the engine overhauls for 6 F18 squadrons.

Agreed.

But we do have textev that Sidemore has a light manufacturing capability (they were manufacturing domestic light units (DD & CL) there, and Hancock has some light parts production capability.

I would assume Alizon has the ability to construct all the parts necessary for a pre-buttercup BC and below.

I'm not calling Sidemore (or anywhere else) the "Savior of the Manticorian Alliance", because they arn't - but there are some capabilities scattered around that an be capitalized on while the supply chain is re-coelescing.

If David wanted an outside system to help, Talbot is the answer. They have a full manticore pattern SD yard with fabrication equipment circa 2010.

Yeah, but the way he has that set up, the chances of them riding to the rescue are slim to none.

Of course he never codified anything he told us about Talbot leaving the MA in text, so anything can really happen.

I believe the current ammunition of choice for bazooka's these days are wet noodles.... 8-) :D

I think that the best thing the SEM can do is see to it that the systems associated with the wormholes get control of them, not the SL or any OFS governors, so that those systems (1) benefit and (2) have reasons to ally with and be friendly toward the GA. Which may mean some protection BY TREATY (not forcibly imposed) by the GA until the system can do it's own defense.

For example, I expect Zunker SDF will be acquiring larger and more potent systems than the handful of LAC's it currently has, and Nolan, once the OFS has departed, will also be very interested in mutual defense and trade treaties with the GA.

We shall see. Eventually.

Bribes, like technical docs, large amounts of cash and offers to have Beowulf install the most modern gear. delivered with the right apologies by your most skilled diplomat would go a long way. :)

That and the knowledge that they had been played into leaving by the Mesans on 2 fronts - Giancola (who modified the Manty correspondance) in talking them into leaving the Alliance, and New Kiev (who disappeared mysteriously after the Manty Government change and is under financial investigation for unreported funds) whose dipolmatic cold shoulder ignored Talbot's requests.

Descroix, not New Kiev. New Kiev was the only major figure in the High Ridge government not directly implicated in any actual crimes. She's still alive and not in prison.
