Actually, the GA's overall strategy is primarily diplomatic; any military action is in support of the diplomatic efforts to convince systems to follow Beowulf's example. The majority of action is going to be "economic warfare" directed at shipping and control of shipping routes.

I don't think the GA is going to engage in any infrastructure destruction because their military target is the SLN and exposing its inability to protect Solarian commerce.

Some infrastructure is going to get trashed along the way; Technodyne Industry of Yildin (which is NOT a league member) has got to be fairly high on the target list because TIY has been caught with their fingers in several MAlign plots against Manticore.

The examples we've seen of Lacoon and tenth fleet suggests that Manticore, at least, will do as little damage as possible so they can turn over a functioning system to whomever gets to take over from OFS or SL bureaucrats.

Do we actually know that Yildun is not a Solarian League member? Even with all the corruption, I find it highly doubtful that the SLN would entrust a major part of their warship building and munitions supply to a foreign power. Also, if Yildun wasn't a SL member, how would they have the authority to do the investigation and lawsuits after the Monica affair.

Textev is needed.

In the history of mankind, no major power has ever had their major naval ships built in a foreign country.

Only "country" that could possibly buck this statement is Florence and no one would actually call them a major naval power. Trading power, yes, naval? No.

Given that SD building contracts are so lucrative, it is hard to believe that the SLN would have ships built outside of the League. That might imply that outsiders could do the job better than Solarians, and we all know that that can't possibly be true

I just wonder if anyone will do the research to actually verify my bombastic statement.

Though, I did quickly run through the list of naval powers in the last 2000 years and could not come up with anyone, so, pretty safe I would say.

Yildin is an uninhabitable system wholly owned by Technodyne. There's no government of Yildin to be a member of the Solarian League.

So, Luxemburg is not part of Europe...

Of course it is and has remained "independent" due to its status as a gigantic tax haven for Europe's wealthy elite.

Well-stated, Harold and Torlek. Time for my 'Captain Obvious; codicil.

I think it depends on whom the infrasturcture is perceived to be owned by; if it belongs to the SLN or part of the SL government, it is fair game for raids (and subsequent destruction); if it belongs to the particular system (like mining interests or space stations, I think they will get a message somewhat like this:

"We're not interested in destroying your economy; in fact we'd rather re-establish trade and commerce once this unpleasant situation brought on by the SL and the SLN is resolved. Meanwhile, we regretfully inform you that trade and ship movement are restriced to intra-system and perhaps some trade with systems that have already left the SL and have established relations with us. Sorry for the inconvienence and our political teams should be here in a week or two to discuss our future relationship.

Oh, and by the way, apologies for the litter from that SLN SD division....at least they were smart enough to surrender and abandon ship, which is more than the SL diplomats in their office tower did..again, sorry about that hole there in the middle of your capital--I'm sure someone will rebuild something useful..."

We shall see, eventually....

How do we know it's wholly owned by Technodyne? Where is it stated that a system has to have a habitable planet to be a member of the SL?

Textev on both those points is needed.

In any case, Yildun has a significant population in orbital habitats. It also has a wormhole junction with two termini; I seriously doubt that the Mandarins would let a niggling little detail like the absence of a habitable planet prevent SL membership and all the revenues that would accrue from it.

Not that when a couple dozen ships of the wall emerge from hyper the Mandarins and the ilk won't sh*t a brick until the Manties course is determined. Then the officials on and around the Mars facilities can continue to kiss the butts goodbye. lol
