Oddly enough, in US Thoroughbred horse racing, all name are required to be unique. Of course, a second Secretariat coming in dead last might tend to irritate the betting public. So if I bet on a horse by name, I know what I am getting BUT if I buy a book by name, I had better know what I am buying. Thus the ISBN number and referencing book name AND author![/quote]
Not exactly accurate. The names of horses on the restricted list, like Secretariat, cannot be reused,at least in the US, but ordinary horses names can be once they have been retired from racing for a while. No names from the restricted list (Hall of Fame members, Eclipse Awards winners, Kentucky Derby winners, etc. To see all names that meet the restriction requirement check here in rule 6(F)(15). http://horseracing.about.com/od/breedin ... eingtb.htm |

Ok, y'all.... please excuse my denseness as I am a First-Timer here, but...... WHO is RFC?? And, I'm curious as to the nature of Sharon's illness......
Having recently went through some rather major surgery myself, I can certainly understand things being delayed. Thanks in advance, MH57 |

RFC is Runsforcelery aka MWW the Mad Wizard Weber or perhaps you might know him as David Weber. It's his screen name here on the forums. |

First of all and on the behalf of our fellow denizens of this den of literary inquiry of all things Weber, let me invite you to have a free drink at the bar (if you can find it) and thank you for coming out of lurker mode. Take care about poking the moderators, they do have teeth like unto the Bandersnatch! While I am not the most knowledgable about David/RFC/MWW's better half, Sharon, I believe her illness has been spinal in nature and has required multiple surgeries to remedy. I believe that this past spring (2014) the two of them went to Atlanta for a major operation which is what put RFC (understandably) behind in the HFQ manuscript handover. Merry Christmas to one and all! -----

Hi All,
The release date on amazon (September 8, 2015) seems to be right. If you take a look on http://us.macmillan.com/mobile/book/9780765321879 the publication date has been changed from November 2015 to September 2015. Enjoy the Holidays |

Well, if this holds up, it's a nice change, a pleasant surprise. Don When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.
