Damian has hypothesized that Mike will figure the guy is a nut and ignore him, but as we know Mike is doing the exact opposite.

Imagine his surprise when he pops into Seraphim to meet up with Indie and Mackenzie and a Mantie squadron of cruisers or destroyers suddenly ride in over the alpha wall and realizes he is trapped once Indie gleefully informs the commander that their "man" Firebrand is here.

Do really think that someone as resourceful as Damian is not going to have an escape plan available which he will execute as soon as he hears about the Mantie squadron, and that's assuming that he hasn't found out that Henke is responding to the requests for help, in which case, he stays away from Indy and Max, or anyone of the other groups he has been busy setting up.

OTOH, even if he gets caught, the only piece of real information he has is which planets he has been setting up, and he carefully says that he took over for another Firebrand after Norbrandt went bonkers - won't work if a treecat is available, but there are only two in Tenth fleet, and Alfredo is definitely going to be with Mike, and she is busy on Mesa, not running around in the hinterlands.

I could see him getting caught on returning to Meyers, since he (and for that matter, very few others) know that it is now in Mantie hands.

Besides his own knowledge, he might also be suborned (he is a mercenary, after all, and mercenaries have been known to change sides) to setting up a meeting with Asimovana where she can be stunned and any suicide devices (her own or MAlignment-installed) can be removed.

And instead of Victor and Thandi doing the interrogation, I still envision a scene where she comes too, is told that he suicide devices have been expertly removed by that 'doctor over there' (a large shadow with a smaller feline one next to him) and that Alfred Harrington and Sorrow Singer would like to ask her some questions about the people who killed their family/clan.

You first, Ms. Mesan super spy, we'll start the interrogation by showing this HD video of what happens when a treecat decides to rearrange that pretty face of yours...

All very interesting, but how much real information will she have about the location of the MAlign. Again, that is a piece of information I would expect that agents in the field will not have. She can confirm that Albrecht Detweiler is alive, as well as his sons/clones, and the existence of the onion, but other than that, does she even know about the RF - she really doesn't have a need to know that, and operational security would argue against here knowing it.

Oh, That's probably enough information to satisfy this guy. I really just wanna see Aldona's witty responses and snap reactions to the the thought of getting that "A-Line" genotype pretty face subjected to a treecat with a grudge. Picturing said super-spy tied to the bench with said treecat sitting on her shoulder squeezing deeply enough to tear things with one set of super sharp claws and sorta purring in a manner as if to say "let make me show you how these other four sets of fully extended claws (waved in front of eyes), and don't make me do it more than once"...

At which Aldona tells us where Albert buys his favorite color and brand of underwear on which planet at what time of day, even if she's not quiet sure.

Actually, they just need to show clips from the Grayson Palace security video.

I don't think Sorrow Singer would threaten or coerce. She would simply "deal with her" and the universe would be a better place.

That was the video I had in mind, yes. Then we explain to Sorrow Singer that we need Aldona to sing like a birdie first. Then she deals with her.

The way things are compartmentalized, I seriously doubt that Aldona knows all that much beyond the various operations she's been assigned. Granted, that's likely to be a great deal in terms of people, places, who's been paid off, where she orders supplies and all that stuff, but it's not going to get anyone a centimeter closer to the Renaissance Factor, Felix or Darius. She is, of course, one of the people who's dealt with Albrecht face to face, and she has one of the specialty line bodyguards as well.

Her ship, with the Streak Drive hyper generator, is likely to be a lot more interesting. If it can be taken intact.

Agreement on the ships. What she knows? In Mission of Honor, it refers to Albrecht bringing her all the way inside the onion, and how dismayed she was that she thought she knew what was going on, and didn't know much at all about the big picture. Big hit to her ego. See Chapter 22 in Shadow of Sagnami for the description of her reaction to finding out.
