The LACs are already short of power, to the point that hte fission reactor has run all the time to keep the capacitor rings charged, and you want to add another drain on them. Marvelous

Not true. LAC's are only short of power if it is trying to shoot everything at the same time along with sidewalls.

Somehow, the drain of a Gigantic Graser + sidewalls and PDLC's is vastly greater power required than a measly drone.

The weapons don't draw energy from the generator; they draw energy from the capacitors because the generator can't give them enough energy.

A LAC just flying along ballistically with wedge and rad shielding up is using most of the energy from the generator. There isn't enough leftover to do what you suggest.

It requires far more power to start the wedge than maintain it. 60% more in fact. This 60% extra power drain takes a while before energy siphon effect takes over. Heck SD's take 45min to start their impellers. So, vastly higher power outputs are required of the fusion/fission pile for a lengthy period of time before energy is siphoned across the next highest hyperspace wall.

A LAC not only maintains its wedge, but also maintains sidewalls along with charging main capacitors for Graser, PDLC fire, and EW.

Off hand I would say, a LAC easily has enough spare power to maintain a Lorelie drone for a long while.

No. It is short of power if it tries to run the graser and the impeller at the same time, whether or not the sidewalls are up. In fact, I believe the graser requires the capacitor even if the impeller is down. PDLCs also require the capacitor. Maintaining the impeller plus sidewalls plus plus life-support plus a little more to charge the capacitor is as much as the generator can handle. I believe all other (intermittent) power needs have to draw on the capacitor.

But the LAC generator cannot start the impeller by itself. Text says that starting the impeller requires the capacitor.

WE have no idea what A is to start with. Lets discuss A...
