Honor's superhuman resilience

SWM; We choose to restart old threads because they remain good subjects. We also do not, (like perhaps some non mentioned Admirals) have the physical time to hang around forever in this excellent Forum.

I know I do not. I also know I have re started old threads and most certainly will re start old threads in the future. That is the way it is. Far as I know, there is no non written law doing otherwise. I certainly hope.

I'm not sure why you are "not mentioning" the admiral, since it's clear that I am the admiral in question. I'm the only admiral who has spoken on the topic.

I don't believe that I said that you cannot revive old threads. Nor did I intend to chastise anyone. All I did was point out a custom that has existed widely across the internet for over forty years and is still common today on every forum that I follow, and ask that people carefully consider before reviving any particular long-dead thread.

Hopefully not dozens, and this is the first forum site that I've ever been on that wasn't something techie/job related. I didn't realize that it affected how anyone else's displays really worked that much (aka sort orders, etc.) nor that it would be frowned on. I do try to read the full threads before I comment though.

Meanwhile... I'll stick to the threads which seem to be active at present for a while. It's a cool -Verse to play in, yes?

I know you didn't mean anything untoward SWM. You just wanted to know why so many old threads were being resuscitated. But, we have to allow that for new members. Old to us, is new to them. There are several old threads that my friends, and niece would not only have rekindled, but made very prolific and interesting.

Sharkhunter, if you feel there's something you'd like to add to any thread, no matter the age, please do so. We might have missed something, and I'm sure we all appreciate and welcome your input.

But, perhaps, a couple at a time?

I should mention that there are several old threads that are still being discussed in my circle. My Romanian friends are having a ball with the Prolong thread - being M.D.s

And the 'Top Ten Tacticians' thread ... has spawned competitions in 3DChess, paintball guerilla warfare and video gaming simulations, as well as analysis of the battles of famous generals. It continues.

In one word? Humility. She knows that she's a tactical "whiz kid", knows that she's earned her decorations and her rank, knows that her proteges tend to be good officers, etc. But she steadfastly refused and refuses to use that influence for herself or play "whack a body" just because they're in the opposition.

So despite being upper echelon intelligence, upper ranking military, worked her way all the way up the "black belt ranks", came by her fortune honestly, spent it to help her adopted planet, only to end up a gazillionaire, being a steadholder and duchess... She doesn't consider that a reason to be rude, rotten, and rebellious.
