I can think of a few things too - besides that.

I sorely miss the rapport of Honor and Andrew. They came to know each other well. I often thought LaFollet's love for Honor bordered love. I'm still not certain he wasn't simply good at hiding the fact that he'd fallen in love. I kept awaiting RFC's quill to confirm it. RFC probably had to kill Andrew off, because the chemistry present surely would have caused a spark.

Andrew would never have acted upon it. His armsman code of honor would never have permitted it.[/quote]

--------------------

Andrew has stated, even back in Field of Dishonor, that he, and the other armsmen were in love with Honor, but it was a purely sacrificial love of protection. similar to the Greek term agape.

I always thought RFC killed off Andrew and Miranda to save Honor the pain of watching them die of old age.

MOH:

Elizabeth: "You know we'll have foot dragging and tantrum throwing all over, don't you?" She asked. Then she smiled and said What the hell, I've always enjoyed a challenge."

Personal note, I never thought I would do this but I skipped a part of a novel with Allyson in it. MOH, Yawata strike, just too hard to take the whole thing.....

Captain Valentine MacNaughtan of the Saltash Space Service.
Dueñas, you miserable asshole, he thought scathingly. You don’t have a frigging clue, do you? I really don’t want to see what you screw up for an encore, but I’ve got a nasty feeling I’m going to. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, Grandpa, what did you think you were doing?!

Just ...

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

But Dueñas’ sister had married a senior assistant undersecretary of the interior, and her last, gossipy letter (outpacing official correspondence, as private mail had a tendency to do) had mentioned rumors the Star Empire might recall its merchant fleet from Solarian shipping lanes.

Underscores my sentiment that the great-grape-gossip-vine will always find the avenue of least communicative resistance.

“He’s got to be crazy, Ma’am,” Tucker Kiernan told Oxana Dubroskaya flatly. “Five light cruisers against four battlecruisers? They’ve got at most—what? Maybe eight tubes per broadside? Well, we’ve got twenty-eight per broadside!”

Now I understand the Sollies!

Captain Zavala.
“It’s been my observation that the best way to impress a Solly is to shoot him squarely between the eyes,” he told his chief of staff, never looking away from the plot. “You wouldn’t want to shoot him anywhere else, though. You might hurt him."

The danger of refusing to negotiate with Honor Harrington. From FiE:

"All right, be that way. But watch yourself, Howard! Someone has to make that speech to the Ladies' Gardening Guild next week."

But Daddy is a very…guided weapon, Gwen. He’s got really good target discrimination, and he’s just as good at holding down the collateral damage.

And stealthy as any Apollo missile that daddy.
