Anaphylaxis consecutive to steak ingestion, I suppose, despite Archangel Pasquale's teachings.

Anyway, imagine a pastry chef decides to try to impress the Empress by creating a suitable recipe for a "Sharleyan tart". We start of course with shortcrust pastry, but then what should the filling be ? (Note that we need ingredients typical from both Charis and Chisholm of course).

If they have hot chocolate, then they should have something similar to Terra chocolate, salt, and sugar.
Also available are certain nuts, berries, apples and the persimmon fig. Unknown at this time: The bark of the Waffle Bark may be used in the manufacturer of a new type of beverage - Waffle~Cola.
The EoC patent office is currently reviewing the formula for adherence to the Holy Writ.

Actually, I believe that the chocolate used in the series is the chocolate from Terra. What is missing now I think about it is any mention of coffee. How in the world did the terra forming crew ever miss introducing coffee? Everyone knows that navies run on coffee, so they had to have it available during the terra forming process.

It's a sad, sad, story.
The first cultivated coffee plantations were in and around the Alexandria Enclave. Other smaller crops grow wild in isolated areas; but when the Holy Writ was drawn up by the surviving Archangel Chihiro, coffee was denounced as the 'Drink of Grimaldi' with warnings of sleeplessness, head pounding, the gitters, fits of anger, stomach ailments, and the song of Shan-wei (tinnitus).

Either that or DW is just EVIL.

So that's going to be the secret weapon that destroys the CoGA. Merlin will introduce coffee only for people who embrace the CoC, and the resulting advantages sweep all before them.

You seem to have forgotten 'Carbon Remover' and 'Rifle Barrel Cleaner', both being on the strong side. 'Wake the Dead' is considered quite strong!

And then there is FORGE COFFEE

Fill coffee boiler with water, add one coffee boiler lid ground coffee with salt to taste, place in center of forge, pump air until boils over (usually a few seconds on a well lit bed of coals) place on side of forge adding water and coffee as needed. Note when working at a hot forge drinking cold drinks will knot up your guts so drink coffee!

Getting between an addict and his jolt of java is as dangerous as getting between politicians and their teleprompter! If there is a method to make java on the job, it will be made. It would be an interesting 'experiment' to make a group to do totally without their choice of coffee or chocolate.

Which would you choose?
