I agree completely !!

My father used to say "Common sense isn't that common!".

I can add to that by saying that I've found that "common decency isn't all that common either" (unfortunately).

Oh well, I guess I'm showing my age

The only thing to which "common" is prefixed which is not, in fact, as rare as "rocking-horse turds", is the "Common Cold"

The common language, used during the course of the common day, by the common folk, tends to be vulgar.

The word vulgar can, in itself, be defined as: of the common people.

Oh, snippet posts....We search and search we're yearning...
from thread to thread and all of RFC's posts...
our patience gone and all our calm's a churning
'Ti's we must bide and you we desire the most

Oh come ye back when RFC's returned
Or when he's bored and seeks his relief
'Ti's here we wait with posts to be debated
Oh snippet post, oh snippets ease our grief

If you come when patience has abated
With patience gone as it may well be
You'll come find us at the post most debated
There you'll say" Read and be set free".

And as I read, my mind soars before me
And my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you'll not fail to tell me you'll return to me
I'll simply wait, bound by desire for thee

I'll simply wait, bound by desire for thee

Just a guess, but I suspect snippets will be about 3-4 weeks apart until we're lots closer to the release date.

So far they haven't been:
snippets delay (in days)
1-2 7
2-3 7
3-4 10
4-5 7
5-6 10
6-7 11
7-8 9
8-9 9
9-10 12
10-11 19 (due to vacation in Europe)
and we are now at 12 days since snippet eleven. Its time please

I think it was Mark Twain who once said that American enthusiasm was like "building a fire on an ice floe; you had to keep feeding it or it would die out"
I sense this same phenomonon in the enthusiasm elicited by the relatively infrequent snippets we're getting for HFQ. There was a lot more excitement while we were waiting for LaMA, and getting subweekly snippets, than there is now when we get a snippet only once every 10 days (if we're lucky). There's not as much frantic topicing and replying, and the subjects aren't as much on point.
I hope RFC isn't losing his audience a little bit!
I realize that it's a long time to next November, but if fuel isn't added to the fire (see opening quote) regularly, it will die down significantly and may not relight quite as brightly.
Now that would be a tragedy!!!

Maybe since it's taking so long this time we could get a snip instead of a snippet.

Those "snips" are very entertaining ... for David Weber.

Ones like "I don't think Nimue is dead" or "Hektor being mortally wounded" have given David Weber tons of entertainment.

I bet the traffic on this site has been terrific these past 4 days- nobody stays long - but everyone checks a couple three times a day for our next helping.

Maybe we're at the one a month stage???

That is a truly evil suggestion, and you don't need to be giving RFC any ideas.
