If both the President and Vice-President candidates where from the same state, the electors from that state could not vote for them - Made some sort of sense in trying to force the electors to think nationally, instead of regionally - now of course, we should do away with the electoral college, and go to direct election of the president and vice-president, similar to the provision for US Senators.

We're completely off topic. So no comment.

Not fair I love the Snippets!! I cannot wait till the book comes out. I do not understand why it has to wait till Nov of 2015 to come out!!!
David should consider self-publishing all of his books after all he is a famous author with a large numbers of readers/fans of his books/Ebooks. :|

No doubt he has a contract with Tor/Macmillian that all of the Safehold books are to be published by them. I would love it if David started to sell his books as ebooks, and if he needs an editor to prep them for publishing online, I'll stick my hand up and jump up and down shouting "Me! Me!", but then so would a few thousand (million?) other fans.

I don't see that we have to regard the SSK as factionalized. I can't think of anyone I agree with on everything either theologically or politically. That doesn't mean we are at odds or alienated. Sometimes argument can be good natured.

As much of the discussion on this forum demonstrates.

Yeah, that's my impression of the SSK and the speculations they've got about the background of creation and all. They don't know, they're making guess based on what they have, they're interested, they have different suspicions, and that makes no difference to speak of when it comes to concrete goals.

If I'm right Aivah is a genie, higher IQ and eidetic memory, it's only possible explanation for her memory and skills with schemes. Also skimmer could be piloted by its computer, upload preplanned flight route and laugh it.

In the final years of the federation, I would be surprised if a substantial percentage of the population weren't genies. In the last snippet we learn that Nynian's eidetic skills were the result of genetic tampering which would indeed make her a genie, although a quite a few generations removed from the tampering.

My own suspicion is that Nimue herself was a genie.

Not quite a genie in bottle, I'd say.

With repect to Nimue being a genius (or should you better call her genia  ), I disagree.
She was described as capable but not as the up-and-coming superstar of the TFN - which would have been hard, anyways, with the TFN having no future.
Moreover, if she'd been a genius, then Merlin would be as well, wouldn't he? And he does screw up. Just look at the death of Locke Island and explain to me why, in light of that little business in Iythria, the Inner Circle decided to attack the Navy of God in the first place...

I think we have two different uses of genie here. I suspect that n7axw is referring to a person who has had their genome mucked with - the term is widely used in the Honorverse. Has nothing to do with popping out of a bottle, or being a genius, necessarily (although was probably one of the traits selected for).
