Stumbled upon /r/WarshipPorn (http://www.reddit.com/r/WarshipPorn/) on Reddit a few weeks back and it ocurred to me that this might be something you guys would appreciate.

Great pictures of all kinds of warships from the Age of Sail to nuclear submarines all the way to last week's sea trials of the F-35C on the USS Nimitz. All posts come with a submission statements and there's usually some pretty great discussion about the historical context of warships/warship design.

Cheers!

Happy to help! One of my favorite links that I've found there is this (http://imgur.com/a/9h3gD) album of 93 images providing a comprehensive overview of US 2nd generation SSNs. Spent at least a half dozen hours reading this and admiring the subs!

Just saw this article on the BBC website about the naval end of the first world war http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-30128199

some interesting pics of the 'state of the art' in 1918.

Beatty's flagship, HMS Queen Elizabeth, and her four sisters were almost as big a leap forward as the Dreadnought had been: Oil fired, 25 knots on a good day, and 15 inch main guns. The last British BB - Vanguard - was a few knots faster and with much heavier AA and deck armour but concept-wise she could almost have been another of that class.

Thanks for news of the site.
