There's been passing reference to Helen as a princess before, though no word of it's authenticity.

That would be Aivars Terekhov in The Shadow of Saganami, noting that between Abigail Hearns, Miss Owens, and Helen Zilwicki, Crown Princess of Torch, his ship Hexapuma had a superabundance of princesses. So yes, I'd say Helen's status as a Princess of Torch is very much confirmed - at least until Berry gets busy in the babies department.

She'll still be a princess, just further down in the succession.

Or...Aivars Terekov engaged in some deadpan teasing.
Nah. He'd NEVER do THAT.

Has textev given the minimum distance between wedges before wedge on wedge fratricide? Of course, it varies with the strength of the wedge?

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

I don't think so, but I've always assumed (as probably most others have) that it occurs on actual contact between wedges.

Thanks. That was never clear to me.

What happens to all of the Alliance's private citizens who had very profitable businesses tied to Old Earth and a significant inventory there as well? Is resolution only to be expected after the war, and then only if your nation wins? Small businesses may already have collapsed.

It seems an enemy's local material holdings would automatically be seized.

Advanced apology if already discussed.

Is there a declared state of war yet?

Because if there isn't, in the environment of Old Terra, I'll bet on the lawyers.

You know, the ones that the Manticore Trust of Zurich, a Terran based entity of old and high repute, will arrange on behalf of every Manticoran interest on Terra.

Even in the face of a declared shooting war, the legal war to protect those assets as the property of individuals, and not extensions of the government of Manticore, will be a dangerous and prolonged battleground all by itself.

I too want to know more about bolthole. I would like to know is it a planet? Does it refer to an entire star system? What is it like there? I would like to see more
of Shannon Foraker inventing things.I would also like to see what happens when Sonja Hemphill arrives at bolthole and she meets Shannon Foraker.
One more thing I would like to see - both Shannon & Sonja are Very Important People, so I think that they would both be assigned treecat bodyguards I would like to see what happens when they meet the treecats assigned to them. I would particularly like to see Shannon's reaction.

bunyipbelle.
I so love the way you think.
And apparently you and I both would love to know how those two geniuses think.

I mean, can't you hear them now..."If I move this wire here, slice that and replace it with a small fission reactor then manufacture a..."

I can imagine either of them like Wile E. Coyote, and when bolthole becomes stocked with joint technology. It will then be like Wile E. Coyote inside ACME!

You do realize just how epicly bad putting Wile E. Coyote in an ACME plant would be right?

Except that Wile E. Coyote never had the writers on his side - a fate which would never? happen to Shannon and Sonja.
