Does Masada continue to refuse prolong?

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

Which is odd, as you use girls to tie families together.

Absolutely, kzt.

Akin to cutting off your nose to spite your face?
Or killing your hens, to spite your cock!

I don't think anyone ever said that the Masadans were logical. Or even sane. :) They had quite a number of policies which were counterproductive.

Honor was awarded a much deserved and earned Protector's Champion. But Nimitz was instrumental in saving the Protector's Family too. Shouldn't Nimitz have received at least a High Treecat or something?

Or a statue with a treecat standing in a celery patch. Hey, Nimitz would be more appreciative.

During the occupation of Masada, what will happen if mass numbers of Masadan women suddenly request asylum? Could it be granted? They are still on Masada.

Will there be many falling in love with members of the Alliance, RFC?

I think it is fundamentally incorrect and misleading to view the station of Protector's Champion as an "award" that is "deserved and earned".

Those terms apply fully to the Star of Grayson, but the office of Protector's Champion is a (weighty) responsibility, a tool of state. It seems to me that it is more "imposed" than "awarded".

The statue Honor found after returning from Hades was of both her and Nimitz.

Hi Cthia,

I've previously postulated you had some of the sisters raising funds speaking against Masada's treatment of women etc in the SL, so they were able to establish different refuges in the Masada system when Hamish captured it.

I've also suggested that new cities were built as more refuges for security reasons, possibly in deserts and islands, to secure all those who chose a more moderate path, ie to adopt prolong and all the other blessings of modern society that Manticore offered.

If women were publicly stoned, including broadcast, I suspect women stoning guilty men [often probably their ex-husbands] was also broadcast in the early years of the occupation, as part of the tit for tat.

We haven't had a full discussion on the process of changing Masada into something more civilized for awhile.

Do you want to start a thread on what the SKM's goals and objectives are at the beginning of the occupation and how they might have changed?

Isolating the genders has been suggested to avoid the usual slaughter of women by such bitter defeated men.

Given the relatively isolated fiefdoms each male clan seemed to be, taking them down separately and quickly seems to be indicated.

Including what limits Hamish may have had [certainly manpower], and those of the permanent garrison.

If I remember one suggestion, it was simply to wait for all the old elders to die off, but I don't think the SKM is that patient or stupid. ;)

Any snippet or post from RFC is good if not great!
