Yep, that would be my wish too.

I'd also love to know a bit more of what happened between Adrienne and her father after the short story and if they ever fixed that poor guy they programmed to be the assassin. We're going to get a lot from her time as queen, but unless a main character becomes involved with her where not likely to find out much about the intermission and what happened in there and the people involved.

So many characters, so little time (and pages). The MWW can write some interesting portraits of even minor characters, but if we focused on all of their stories, we would need 1,900-page books (I for one have no problem with that, but RFC's publishers' might).

As for Queen Adrienne and her father (the referenced story is What Price Dreams in Worlds of Honor), I imagine it was repaired over time, but like most emotions, it was not quite the same....nearly as good, but different. Life (and humans) are like that.

We do know that as Queen, Adrienne sent Edward Saganami to Silesia and his eventual heroic death (and saw to it that he was avenged). She also apparently ruled well enough that Adrienne is one of Elizabeth II given names and her Yatch (destroyed in Ashes of Victory) was named Queen Adrienne.

Yes, its confirmed they are alive.

At Honorcon last year, David and the Bu9 guys were actually rather surprised that there were folks who did not get that.

I've been looking forward to at least a mention that Oversteegan might go into politics for several books now. To pull an r'n'h-type speculation here (and get her furious with me at the same time), I expect that this move will be aided and partly financed by the new girlfriend that Michelle is going to introduce him to...

Cheers on that, the confusion came from not noticing Wanderman and not being sure if they where part of the station crew or the research crew. The Latter got off, the former didn't.

Also another Adrienne thought. Do we ever hear anything about who her eventual Husband was. She's obviously even without the things you noted quite well thought off but we never hear her husband mentioned. Found that a bit interesting.

So many books i still haven't read...

The vast majority of the maintenance/yard side crew are safe also. There was only a minimal 'station crew' (i.e. the watchkeepers running the minimum essential functions of the station), some inspectors, and the most senior station command staff aboard when the attack went home.

This came up in a discussion of the available infrastructure recovery assets. The Weyland yard staff, later supplemented by the Grendlesbane repatriates and Beowulfers, will be the core trainers for the recovering space workforce. (I expect a high volunteer rate from the T-Q for those trainee slots, also.)

...you have got to be joking. Stacy Hauptman and Michael Oversteegen?? They'd kill each other inside a month, and that estimate's generous!

Hi RoseandHeather,

Where have we heard that before?

Opposites often attract, you know?

I think daddy might be very relieved that Oversteegen isn't a gold digger, NTM Stacy; who probably has spent a fortune keeping her face and picture out of the newsies sights, as well as investigating the backgrounds of those who she does meet.

So someone who isn't afraid of daddy, that her second near-father merchant captain [name?] approves of, a bona fide war hero, that Honor and Mike have known for years, and despite his aristocratic accent etc still like.

Who else would you recommend as a suitable suitor?

Jeremy X?

So far no one else comes close, unless you see someone in the shadows.

Oh, PISH. Michael Oversteegen is an aristocrat to the bone destined to marry an aristocrat. I mean, for God's sake, the man's practically a Regency romance hero! (And Abigail is his heroine, mark my words.)

No, Stacy needs someone without Michael's innate "I'm an aristocrat" sense of superiority. I love the man, really I do, but he is not the type to marry a commoner. You want him in an "opposites attract" romance, look no further than Michelle Henke. The man who breathes aristocracy and the woman who'd run away from it as fast as possible the first chance she got? THERE'S your Honorverse's Benedick and Beatrice. (But I still think Michelle's going to marry Tourville and give Eloise Pritchart fits of diplomatic glee that leave her with a perma-smile for a year.)

As for Miss Hauptman, she's been in Honor's "inner circle" - or at least the circle immediately outside it - for years. As has a particular flag captain who answers to "Rafe". Nudge nudge wink wink catch my drift??

Well, the poor guy who was supposed to be the assassin was presumably fixed by honest ... psych programers? (I don't remember the term, and don't care enough to find it. ^_^) They won't have to be slow and subtle, since they can be quite honest about what they are doing (fixing some one's mess).

Carl wrote:About Adrienne's husband

I got the impression (which could be completely wrong, and really won't surprise me) that it was Saganami (or would have been, if he hadn't died - I'm unsure of dates and ages). It was just something about how he says goodbye, in Shadow of Saganami. On the other hand, he could just be one of her friends (kind of like how Honor is now, for Elizabeth).
