Realistically it just comes down to the person. Some people are corruptible, some are not. When the corruptible are more wide spread, or spread out, they appear more statistically corrupt. The poor just don't have the same impact. Or one might say the poor can't buy off as many or as much as the rich.

Nope. There´s always plenty of opportunity to be corrupt, regardless of who you are or how rich you are.

Corruption of the rich generally has more IMPACT, but that´s irrelevant here.
Smallscale dishonesty and corruption is as bad as largescale as long as you´re looking it if it exists.

Considering this topic I though this quote from the latest snippets was interesting.

Wealthy people actually tended to be on the cheapskate side when it came to things like tipping. And charity, for that matter. It had been a constant for millennia that people of average means gave a higher percentage of their income to charitable causes than rich people -- especially when you factored into the equation the end beneficiaries. Average people gave to those poorer than they. Rich people usually donated their money to cultural institutions -- museums, universities and opera houses, for instance -- of which they or their children were major personal beneficiaries. And then named them after themselves.

In my opinion, money is a magnifier, like power. It is very possible to be corrupt/bigoted/dishonest etc, but the more money or power someone has, the greater the effect.
An interesting example of British politics. Originally, MPs did not get paid for sitting in the houses of parliament as the idea was that by choosing to become MPs, they were showing that they were willing to sacrifice time/money for the privilege of directing the country. While this did mean that those without significant financial reserves would find it almost impossible to become an MP, the sacrifice involved tended to focus the mind and the result was MPs such as Gladstone and Disreali, who were also masters of political invective (but I digress). Any MP who was corrupt would soon be revealed and reviled by the others.
Then in order to bring in a larger potential group, MPs started to get paid and their expenses met.
While this did indeed allow a few superior MPs to attain office (Lady Margaret Thatcher being a case in point), it also allowed for quite a few corrupt MP's to get into office and abuse it, such as John "Two-Shags" Prescott who was renowned for chasing his secretary around the desk Benny Hill-style. There was also the whole expenses scandal, the ramifications of which are still quite visible.
The whole thing can be summed up as "Money or power makes good people better and bad people worse".

It depends what you call wealthy, it was often funny having the Arabs and the Japanese arguing over who was going to pay the bill. It wasn't who got stuck with the bill, it just was that they both wanted to pay for everyone else. The Arabs always used cheques, so the Japanese won most of the arguments as plastic gold or platinum cards are so much faster. Obviously those who didn't carry money had it different.

Also the really rich live different than most people, Satoshi was funny as he was living in Hawaii at one of his hotels, when he arrived in Oxford everything was fine until it got, what they call, cold. He didn't like that so he took the term off and flew back to Hawaii. The Princess, Sharouk (sp?) al Saud, got bored one term and just went to Rome instead, then Germany, France and finally showed up again a few weeks later. John who is Swedish and builds ships, had a fancy car, Mercedes or Jaguar, even considered a Lagonda at one point. He was, sort of more down to earth. He had an entourage to keep him out of trouble, his 'girl friend' who was the most beautiful Swedish model you could imagine, and a friend / fixer of problems... In Oxford there just isn't much parking, John's solution was to just park where he wanted. At the end of the month he would take his tickets in and pay them off. Cost more but was way more convenient than looking for a parking spot. Some might consider this rude. Perhaps one could say it was a consequence he was happy to accept when he broke the rules. Others didn't have rules or even laws. HHS Saif .... I won't use his full name, but HHS stands for His Highness Sheik, which he hated me calling him so I called him, and still do, his littleness. He is only about 5'3". His father had the head of the Thames Valley police send a detective to make sure he was behaving himself. Every couple weeks he would come to the college and make sure he was being nice. Staying in the good books of the college and confiscate his hash stash. He went through a brick a month. Two or three if it was confiscated. Not sure what the detective did with it. Thinking about it about half the people at my college had diplomatic immunity.

Different rules.

The Biblical viewpoint is that we all are criminal in one way or another. The choice is to change our mind, trust God, and get a pardon (God didn't need to promise this, but did for those who trust Him.) or face God's judgement.

Hey, I've gotten a pardon!

True

And also:

"So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."

If everyone on the planet followed this, the world would be a lot better place. Given that we are all sinners and that no one is perfect, if everyone on the planet followed this most of the time, the world would be a lot better place. Even if only those who claim to be Christian follow this, the world would be in a lot better place. (Although I have met quite a number of non-Christians who while not believing in the Bible, do believe in this single verse.)

True, and I've met a number of professed Christians who don't follow that simple life guide as well.

Call it karma or just basic decency, but behaving kindly to others does seem to come back around & make your world better.
In work be kind to your fellow workers & you find they will work in better with you. Speak nicely to the shop assistant & you get the biggest piece on the tray. Let someone merge in traffic & further up the road someone else lets you in.
