She may be living low profile, but there is NO WAY that Ms. Sakristos (whatever her name is now) is living in someplace like Nuncio or equivalent. A nice boutique owner (and genteel bookie) on Erehwon or Smoking Frog or New Berlin, perhaps, but not somewhere that you have to go off-planet to find decent haute cuisine.

Why would she go to Erewhon and Smoking Frog, Those two planets are not just next door to each other galacticaly speaking their across the same room from the one planet Ms. Young would dearly love to avoid and is filled with certain people she would defiantly not want to meet. Can you guess which one. Its a little world filled with ex-Ballroom freedom fighters named Torch.

Concur with that. In my imagination, she is 'happily' married to a prosperous (but not too prosperous) farmer on the Planet Nebraska, whom she met at a convention (and of course has a family history dating 20 generations pasts). And she also works for Nebraska's Immigration department....

And Nebraska just happens to be on the far side of the SL from Torch and Erewhon.

Descroix was, in the end, not very smart. Georgia was and is.

There's also no way she's on a planet that gets so few visitors that her very one arrival stands out.
She'll be on a core world, probablycourting a family member of a transteller.

Hi Saber964,

Agnes and the FAK have apparently been marginalized if not effectively neutralized; no longer much of a serious threat to the nation, and increasingly so over time.

I suspect part of it was the revelation their arms came from Manpower and Mesa, a reappraisal of what the SEM could do for Kornati and its people, that it wasn't the National redemption Party writ large, rather far more inclusive, with far more opportunity and quite willing to invest in Kornati to make it happen.

Much of the FAK's platform was really aimed at it own government and the lack of economic opportunity.

Tonkovic getting hammered, NTM being replaced by Rajkovic not only indicated his reconciliation Party's approach was correct, ie he wouldn't have become president without the voter registration campaign; but the powers-that-be [Tonkovic and the NRP's alliance of families] FAK was really striking at, had taken a huge hit peacefully; thus taking a great deal of wind out of the FAK's propaganda.

Furthermore, I suspect the far larger vista of economic opportunities now available has also taken the edge off the bitterness of many supporters, who are probably willing to put more energy into improving their lives than killing other Kornati, especially when the RMMC seems so able to strike without warning.

I've suggested before Agnes may be so furious at being played by "Firebrand" that she's dispatched some assassins to track him down, though how they'll find him when he moves so much after quitting the Solarian Gendarmes and left the Manpower office on Meyers, unless he goes back there to report instead of Mesa. 8-)

Either way, he could be getting a personal interview with Mike sooner than he ever thought. 8-)

Has anyone given any thought to how New Tuscany might pursue its revenge on Aldona Anisimovna?

She might be surprised at their tenacity when she least expects it. ;)

Best guess is she and the FAK are keeping a very low profile, with at minimum a short battalion of Royal Marines on planet. By this time the Marines are training the KDF and KNP to a very high standard.

If the SEM was smart they would have sent in SIS counter terrorist strike teams and beefed up the RMMC units on planet to a full regiment.
Any snippet or post from RFC is good if not great!

Loony idea - after reluctantly admitting she's been played, Agnes hooks up with a fringe Ballroom sect to go after Firebrand and company. She's crazy, not stupid.

What makes you think that anyone in the Audubon Ballroom would want to touch Agnes Nordbrandt with a superdreadnought??

Examples, saber, just examples of the kind of societal environment that would be the proper hidey-hole environment for Elaine. Because we don't HAVE any good names for reasonably well-developed Shell worlds on the opposite side of the SL volume from the Haven Sector.

The Ballroom is not particularly tightly integrated, especially without Jeremey X's active involvement, and many of the factions that think Jeremey X is a sellout (and there are a lot of them, as per RFC) are not exactly the most rational people. David Pritchard's attitudes are hardly atypical among some of them. Many of them think anything that kills Mesans is fine with them, and care very little about collateral damage.

I wonder if someone a bit more rational might look on infiltration of the FAK and taking down Norbrandt as a means of blocking a Mesa-plot, and also getting in good with the local government. The Ballroom has acquired a lot of experience in covert ops themselves, over the years.

Part of an image rehabilitation campaign, of sorts. Assuming anyone from the Ballroom is even there.

Might be difficult for NT to find AA since she was almost certainly included in the Houdini operation.
