Come on guys how would you kill ol' Joe Buckley on Safehold?

Poker

If my idea of being decapitated by an exploding barrel of fermented pork bellies isn't good enough, he can always get stuck in a crate filled with Steel thistle pods in a ship riding out a storm.

I don't know why you guys are discussing Joe Buckley - He will never show up on the face of Safehold.

Now, if we were discussing Jo Bookley, or Usoph Buclee, or Zosoff Ucklie, that might be a totally different story. He's going to die a memorable (and gruesome) death.

The Temple Times is desolate to inform all the children of Holy Mother Church that the Monastery of St. Zhosyph Bycklyh, the patron saint of Harchong bureaucrats, has been destroyed by a rock falling from the sky. At first witnesses believed this was Rakurai. The Bishop's intendant in the area, Chykyn Lyhtyl, rejects the possibility. He asserts that Shan-wei's work has succeeded to loosen bits of Heaven and those bits are falling upon us. To quote the Intendant, "The sky is falling! Shan-wei is destroying the world!"

I suspect the Charisian heretics have overly stressed the good Intendant. The destruction of the Monastery parallel's the death of St. Zhosyph. The beloved Saint died when attempting to stack records in shelving systems so intricate and beautiful, it mesmerized him. In that very moment of awe inspired introspection, the shelves crashed down on him.

In any case the Monastery of St. Zhosyph Bycklyh is now lost to all those who would seek comfort in gazing upon its intricate and arcane shelving designs. Thankfully, all the documents once housed in the Monastery have been moved to storage facilities that are easier to actually use.

Right now, I'm not sure where I dredged up that date for publication.

It's in the ball-park, I'd guess.

Why would it be otherwise? Joe gets the snippets the same way we do.

I can start making stuff up.

But that would only last until the next real snippet arrives from our Weberly Benefactor.

It's a tradition at Baen books to kill Joe Buckley in some gruesome way many Baen authors have, John Ringo most notably. So here's chance to kill Joe Buckley or a Safeholdian spelling variant.

Hmm, Seaman Zhosyph Bycklyh had managed to get his foot caught in the King Harold VII's massive anchor chain links unfortunately he was to preoccupied getting his foot out and missed the command "Release the anchor." he luckily did not live to drown being torn part in the chain hawze pipe.

Yes, but don't spoil the thread with facts.
