Maybe not an official Sister, but I imagine most of Nynian's more intelligent "employees" are involved in her intelligence gathering.

Since the Inquisition didn't have any idea of what Nynian was using the House for, I suspect Nynian either put somebody else in charge of her House or otherwise provided for her "working girls".

The potential problem here is that a high profile madam catering to upper crust churchmen disappears at exactly the same time as the purge of the Wylsyn circle is going on, more or less inviting questions on the part of the inquisition... "Young Lady, what happened to the madam employing you? Does pulling out your fingernails prompt the same answer you are giving us voluntarily?...ummm"

I have no doubt but what Nynian made provision for this. I'm just wondering what it was...

I would imagine they were among the people that Nynian evacuated in the middle of Clyntahn's purge.

Several factors involved here.

1) She was high profile but also had powerful friends within the Church hierarchy. Unless Clyntahn or Rayno got involved in "asking questions", those powerful friends would be in a position to protect "her girls" after she announced her retirement (which is what I think she did). Some of those powerful friends may have been silent partners in her House.

2) There was no obvious link between her and the Wylsynn circle. None of the Circle knew of her involvement in the Circle matters besides the Brothers Wylsynn. IMO neither Clyntahn or Rayno would see a connection between her and the Circle. While some of the Circle may have been her customers so would some of Clyntahn's allies.

3) As important as we know she was, I doubt that Clyntahn or Rayno would see her as important. She wasn't a part of the Church's power structure so lacking any evidence of involvement, Clyntahn and Rayno would not be concerned when she announced her retirement.

4) Minor thought, Clyntahn himself may have been one of her customers from time to time so lower ranking members of the Inquisition might have seen her (and her girls) as "not to be bothered".

I guess that your conjecture on this is as good as any, certainly as good as anything I have been able to come up with, although if Clyntahn had actually patronized the place, I'm a bit surprised that he didn't end up with something in his wine cup!

Well, Clyntahn likely hadn't visited her House after he became Grand Inquisitor but her girls may have been his "guests" in his Temple apartments.

As for "adding something to his drink", come on now.

She's too smart to kill somebody in a manner that would get back to her.

Imagine the scandal if somebody got sick after drinking something in her place.
