And I want to know what happened to Admiral Baschfish once he got out of hospital.

I can't see Honor leaving him in command of his privateers now that the Confederacy is starting to be integrated into the SEM and the AE. At her level she could easily get him into ATS as a tactics trainer, giving him the opportunity to get current with contemporary operations, then command of a Silesian based BC squadron as acting Commodore.

And if the Royal Navy doesn't want to put Baschfish on that career path, the GSN (meaning Honor) would do it in a heartbeat.

Textev says about 30% of the Manticoran population don't regen, so presumably there's at least one other officer in the RMN who doesn't. If you're asking whether or not we've met one, however, the answer is 'not that I can remember'.

There was a Marine Major in "A Long Way Home" that had a permanent prosthesis.

As far as we know he is still in the same job, but probably trying to lay low. I doubt the MAlignment, with Houdini underway, is worrying too much about a medium-important agent in Haven. (But I culd be wrong about that). If the MAlignment gives him any thought, it's probably to kill him before he's found out.

What happens if and when he meets Eliose's (or any other of the Haven-bound) treecats could prove to be....interesting.

Tony Nesbitt apparently knows nothing about his brother's actions, but has been a bit leery about the sudden warming of relations with Manticore (something probably shared by billions of Havenites, BTW) after years of war.

Of course, RFC could change that in a heartbeat....

Hi Timmypussycat,

I believe the textev or RFC's posts indicate Admiral Baschfish is now a close adviser to Governor General Admiral Sarnow, having lived and worked in the SC for more than 40 years.

Any snippet or post from RFC is good if not great!

Me thinks ADM Sarnow hired him as a consultant. To tell him about the in's and out's and a real who's-who of the scum of the Confederation. who's on the take, who's fronting for pirates, who's working for Manpower

Heck with consultant--Baschfish is an Admiral in the SKM. Bet he got reactivated and was given the command at the Marsh base.

Keep in mind that Asimov wrote the 1st 3 of the Foundation series and his Robot series, then took a 20 year break doing other things before returning to them and merging the stories.

Seeing as Honor and Nimitz has already met him and not detected anything, I don't expect that a treecat with less human experience will notice anything significant.
