"The Kebab? Ummm, RFC, do you have a cold or something (in which case get well soon ) because I think your voice-recognition software flubbed that sentence."
And here I thought it was a Polandball reference to the Ottomans. >_> |

Hmm, some of the posts contains spoilers for HFQ so I would say yes. PM'ed cralkhi about it so he can update the topic with a spoiler-tag. --- Jack of all trades and destructive tinkerer. Anyone who have simple solutions for complex problems is a fool. |

OK, now that we have the spoiler tag.................... I am going to guess that the body of seijin Kohdy in the secret shrine of the SSK is really an inert pica, Schulers inert pica. When the image of Schuler appeared and predicted the return of the Archangels the Schuler in the holo image was very unlike the Book of Schuler in the writ. Do we have any other textev about the Archangels return other than Schulers appearance in the holo? The key of Schuler is a passkey to control the computer under the temple, which contains Schulers stored memories, intended to be downloaded to the pica. When Schuler didn't like the way things were going with the COGA, he set up this return so he could take over the church and make it what he wanted it to be after all his rivals were dead and assuming the gbaba hadnt found safehold. |

Well, Langhorne was already failing at the last two, so I'm not sure how things could have gotten all that much worse. |

Hi n7axw,
Ask yourself this can you build an iPhone or Android phone by yourself? I get the very distinct feeling that many of the command crew left did not have the technical know-how to do so. They knew how to utilise the technology they had but not the fundamental under-pinning of that technology and in this case how to circumvent the 10 day limit. OWL did because a) he has the schematics of Merlin to play with and b) he had some months to work out how to do it. Cannot remember which book it is in but Merlin did ask OWL if he had finished determining how to build another PICA ... Also I remember DW telling us ages ago that there is only 1 person with a PICA = Nimue

My point was that the "archangels" had access to AIs at least as capable as Owl along with greater resources so if after Langhorne's death they would have wanted to build a PICA, they could have had the AI do it for them, which is, after all, what Nahrman had Owl figure out and do with Merlin's eventual blessing. But what I hear RFC saying is that the command crew's anti-tech fanaticism ruled this out so it is a mute subject. Don When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.

I have always harbored a sneaking suspicion that Clyntahn just might possibly be a very unstable PICA. On several occasions its been stated he's picked the furniture up and wrecked his "office" throwing marble busts across the room hard enough to destroy them....
its been stated he's fat, not that he's exceptionally strong beyond what any large man is carrying that much weight. it might explain his unstable personality. his rigid adherence to wanting things his way. his acceptance of new technologies. (he never argues something wont work) the way he thinks gods will is his will. just a few things he's done that wouldn't surprise me if it was whipped out as a head turner for the final battle with Merlin |
