IMO the crew of the starships weren't memory wiped.

Poker

Why wouldn't the crews of the various ships become colonists as well? It's not as though they are going to need the to crew the starships that got dropped into the sun or use their technical knowledge to support the colony. I think anyone not selected for the role of archangel or angel probably got wiped and joined the colonists.

As for Schuler, he probably got killed at the same time Khody did and for the same reason, disgust with what had happened in the war. At that time the book of Schuler would have been re-written to include all those nauseating punishments, probably by Chiharu who had been driven insane by the pressures of taking over the leadership of the colony and conducting the war. I think that Schuler had already prepared the Wilson family to be leaders in the future.

Yeah, I know, I am not using the correct safeholdian spellings of the names. I am not going to mention how long it took me to correctly interpret Nahumen Batze's name (and I bet I misspell that as well!)

They all have those neural implants, so i wonder if htey have any preserved knowledge in them, could be useful. ANd since they all have their tombs made into a holy, site, it is possible the units can be recovered. while not all secrets would be shown, plenty of clues that are helphful.

Yes, if any of the Command Crew got their hands on his diary, he'd be in trouble.

However, if he wrote in Safehold English, anybody that got his hands on his diary would know about his treasonous thoughts.

IMO we need more info before we can assume that he was writing in Spanish in hopes that some future reader would know Spanish.

SNIP

The fact that he wrote in English enough to give the reader the interpretation that the Adams and Eves were brought to Safehold and that the Base writing of the Church are edited by men for their own advantage is treasonous enough. Kohdy went to Zion to ask some questions and came back dead (probably before his time).

His Spanish was something natural to his Self and must be a product of his true history or a NEAT transfer. Either way what he wrote must have a profound impact on the SSK when it is translated.

I expect Merlin will give them the means of learning Spanish not just translating the journals for them. It gives Charis some time to develop a complete plan of action with the SSK and the control of the journals & that information remains with the SSK. Of course Merlin must ask for a copy of the journals as the price of admission.
I am not young enough to know everything!

WOuld it be in the inquisition records, the purpose sidelining of khody after the war? or would the angels have hidden much of that from their human servants.
khody's book might answer who is sleeping under the temple.

A printed Spanish - English dictionary would be a start (preferably with a printed publication location off Safehold...)
