I think it was the watch-room.
The restroom for the active duty guards.

And all the doors in the Temple open and close magically, according to Gods plan of course.

And back to the original question.

Why did no command crew reproduce command crew people?
Because Langhorn won.
This was one of the most important points disputed between Shan-Wei and Langhorn.
No nanites and no implants for children born on Safehold.

Hi Tanstaafl,

You mean Paityr's father and Uncle.

Any snippet or post from RFC is good if not great!

Some of the Seijin could have been crew pretending. Or even knock the Seijin out and move them with a skimmer. As for tech, we do see that in the hands of the temple guards who try to arrest Paityr's father and uncle.

The room Paityr describes isn't technological at all; there's an altar with one circular indent and two hand shaped indents. That's it. Nothing else described - I re-read that bit last week. What's technological about that? We surmise there is a reader for the Key and maybe a Verifier or a DNA analyser buried in the altar and a remote pickup somewhere in the room. But as far as generations of Wylsynns have been concerned it's just a special place to pray in extremis and as far as everyone else is concerned it's one of loads of little chapels in the Temple complex, if it's not just hidden in some way.

Nope. Captain Phandys goes to a Major's office to report his suspicions. Like all doors in the temple his door is self opening and controlled by a ' magical eye' Otherwise the highest tech thing mentioned in the office is an orderly seargent. The Inquisition do have magical wands that override the locks on the doors. There is no other mention of tech in that story.

The term 'watch room' which has a standard low tech meaning anyway, is never used.

I understand some people are just desperate to find conscious use of tech in the Temple, because that's how they would have written the story. But there is just no textev for it. If anyone thinks there is would they please quote it so we can discuss it?

The sole possible exception I can think of is the third hand rumours that the Inquisition have means of hearing anything said in the Temple. If there was ever any truth in that Clyntahn and Rayno don't have the ability now or we would have seen them using it before now.
