Looking back at your other posts, i see this gem:

Hi I'm a hopeful writer who needs help with his Kath Empire setting the timeframe is 27th century or later.

The novel series is a war Between the Kath Empire and the Terrans from the Kath point of view, and since a branch of Terrans started the War(Americans) by blowing up the Imperial palace on Kath.

So if this is a war story, why are the felines at war with the Americans? Did they do something to provoke an American attack, or is this just another example of the anti-American trope? (Before you begin, I am a fellow Canadian, and I have worked and fought with Americans in several deployments, so I have a real idea of what they are about).

If this is the core idea of the story (Chinese food, base 8 numbering etc. is just background set dressing, unless you can convince the reader why this is critical to the story), you should be working on the backstory of what brought on the war, and your projected timeline of how the war progresses. Are only the Americans at war with the aliens? How and why are the other nations of Earth (or human colonies) involved in this war? How and why is the United States still in existence as a nation in 2600 AD? What sort of nation has it become 600 years from now? What is the rest of the world like? Space colonies of the Earth? Since the kitties haven't apparently evolved or changed in a timespan longer than recorded human history, any realistic POV story will see them at a huge disadvantage (which offers up interesting story possibilities).

Of course this is now starting to look like the Man-Kzin wars of Larry Niven, although in that series the Kzin started each conflict and were eventually defeated by the superior adaptability of the Humans (the first contact comes when the Earth has been effectively disarmed for centuries; the Kzin believe this means the Human race is pacifistic and easy prey to conquer. Sadly for them, large scale spacecraft and spaceflight involves the control of massive amounts of energy, which Humans harness quickly to defeat the Kzin space fleets).

You have been given plenty of tools and advice, so *we* hope you take this to heart and start doing the serious work needed to write a good story. Be assured that *we* will be here to offer constructive criticism and advice, should you want it.

I've taken the liberty of editing your post to what I believe you meant to say, and placed it below.

"Oh, so that's what those red marks means when I write, thanks.

From that I deduce that while you know now what the red marks mean, you still aren't using them to correct your mistakes. Please try to do so.

To address your question regarding the sleeper ships, I do hope that you aren't using the Avatar movie as your main or only reference? Great entertainment but not particularly great hard science fiction.
As mentioned before there are many good examples such as Niven's Known Space to give you some inspiration (not plagiarism please).

Assuming Darly's interpretation of your post is correct, where do sleeper starships fit into any of the story ideas you have thrown out so far, or is this just another new idea you are playing with?

Since this is even less developed than any of the other ideas we have seen so far, it is difficult to say if there is anything for us to be actually looking at here.

You really need to focus on one idea and develop it if you are serious about becoming a writer. Put the other ideas in a notebook and come back to them later. The good idea fairy is one of the biggest enemies to getting things done.

Agreed. Plot Bunnies are evil things, overwhelming the rolling landscape of a well-plotted story and turning it into a squeaking morass. You need to contain them, either by writing them down for later use (as I did with giant tigers in a Naruto story) or to simply get them out of the way and let someone else play with them.

I myself have two dedicated Plot Bunny files on my FFN account for my Naruto and Harry Potter plot bunnies. I also have a dozen files on my computer holding concepts that I might get round to actually writing some day.

A timeline overview is vital if you are writing a big story. Plan out at least the hundred years prior to the story if it's fantasy, the thousand years prior at minimum for sci-fi. Sellotape a series of A4 sheets together vertically and use them to backtrack to the origin point, inserting important things like battles or natural disasters. You don't need to go into detail for each thing, a simple title and line would suffice (such as -2,431 years before story, Battle of Raging Falls, last battle of the Separation War won by the Unionists). Use that to work out viable timings for things like colonisation flights etc. Once you have the basic timeline worked out and hung on the wall for ease of reference, then you can start worrying about the fiddly bits.

At the moment, you are obsessing about the shape of the wheel arches before you have even decided what sort of car you are building! Before you can sculpt the wheel arches, you need to at least build the frame and install the engine.

And read. Read sci-fi, read fantasy and don't hesitate to read fanfiction since much of it will show you what NOT to do.
And for goodness sakes, try to avoid having your story become so bad, it's horrible (check the literature section for examples).

I can't write anywhere near as well as Weber
But I try nonetheless, And even do my own artwork.

Regardless of whether you mean to post on this forum you should do this. What do you write your stories on now?

Then when you wish to post a sample for those here to help you with you copy the sample across.
There are a number of ways to copy text. I just highlight what I want with the mouse using the left button, then click on the highlighted piece with the right mouse button, and select copy from the dropdown menu that appears.
Then you go to the forum, open up a posting page, put the mouse cursor over it, right click again and select paste from the menu that appears.

Oh, don't push the poor boy toward MS-OFFICE! A much better alternative is http://www.libreoffice.org which does just about anything MS-OFFICE can do, it's FREE, and they don't introduce deliberate incompatibilities every six months to force you to buy it all over again. MS-OFFICE is the upgrade treadmill to Hell.

Sorry but he mentioned Word and Works, so I went with what he appears to know. I've got Office 2003 which still works well without upgrades after 11 years, plus Open Office which also works well for free.
