Bringing Nynian into the inner circle means bringing the SSK into the inner circle. And without knowing much more about them, that is a huge NoNo.

What Merlin can propose to Nynian is to answer her and her sisters’ questions truthfully or answer that he is not willing / able / at liberty to answer. And do that while he is shown the journal and the artifacts.

He should not reveal with who else he has shared his secrets, because prudence is the mother of safety.

I must take your word for it, but even Mr. Weber has spelled it Khody and Kohdy, at least in the snippets.

I like Khote because it can be made to sound like Quixote and I like that association

The point was that there's no "t" in his name.

I think your post explains a quite a bit, but the fact that the sisters of St Kohdy are good at keeping secrets doesn't tell us where the training in professional spycraft and covert action are coming from. The Brethren of St Zherneau are equally good at keeping secrets, but took off in an entirely different direction.

Our sisters are running sleeper cells that rescued archbishops and families of vicars and archbishops, assasinated vicars, infiltrated the inqusition undetected and who knows what else. And some of these people are men. How is the recriiting and training of men being dealt with? I think there is still a lot we don't know.

If you recall, Don, I did posit the SSK began as a Seijin Khody support team. Might that not also include Intel and counter-intel capabilities? Perhaps the team also had spec ops capabilities. In anycase the War Against the Fallen lasted 70 odd years. That argues for a truly institutionalized training system for new recruits. Such capabilities would come in handy when their group fell from grace and needed to disappear.

It's Kohdy even though the snippets may have mixed spelling. This is because RFC uses speech recognition software to "write" the books. My guess is that the snippets are from the first finished draft of the book which hasn't been entirely edited and proofread yet and it will contain a lot of strange spellings and other stuff that will get caught in the editing process.

I'm just saying that I'm kinda looking forward to reading the details of that. Curiousity being expressed, not arguement...
