Woah, that clears quite a number of hanging questions, while asking at least twice more !
So : - Kodhy was indeed part of the command crew, and not an Adam. - He switched sides at some point, and from some of the hints probably after the war of the fallen. - No wonder they kept it a secret, they have not only texts but a magical relic too ! - From a cynical point of view, Merlin's katanas are now key to convincing Nynian. - I wonder if this new organisation has his own historians with recorded history putting in relief differences with the official one ? - The reference to Chichiro and Schuller makes one wonder if those 2 have not been "recruited" by the church when rewriting the books and had in fact a very different attitude in reality. That would explain the discrepancy with the moderate Schuller in Paytr artefact. |

You are extremely good at touching your reader emotionally by showing someone doing - or trying to do - the right thing.
The whole thought of what it must have taken Kohdy to set up the sisterhood and the sisterhood to keep operating for such a long time and despite the odds stacked against them is - yeah intensely emotional. Thank you for the snippet. |

Thanks-
You'll note that her Kohdy seems to be a Schulerite- and a Chihiroite. Shulerites are the inquisitors and have a seat on the Council. Chihiroites are the Army of God and have a seat on the council So if that's her background- her "side" won. Something very interesting must happened to Kohdy after the war ended. Espanol? Don Quixote indeed!! The more questions that The Man answers, the more questions arise. Well done! |

This also bring up the posibility that the last archangel to die off may not be entirely a Langhorne supporter. Imagine if you are the last person in the entire world with access to and knowledge of advance tech, what would you do if you did not entirely agree with what all those that are gone had done. |

That was most likely the greatest concern that Schueller and Chihiro had - That the last surviving member of the command crew would not be a loyalist. What would happen if that were the case? How could they be sure when they knew the Pei Kau-Yung who was supposedly loyal was the one who killed all their friends in revenge for the death of Shan-wei? And since it was done with a pocket-sized nuke, what other technology might there be laying around? Then there's the cryptic mention in the Book of Chihiro that the appearance of a demon in the mortal world would be answered with "angelic" support. And we must add to this the Key of Schueller intended for his descendants to maintain the purity of the Church against corruption and in service of Langhorne's Plan, which he wholeheartedly supported out of the deep trauma brought about by the destruction of the Terran Federation and the near extermination of the human race. If indeed Scheuller was not the complete psychopath that Langhorne was, then it stands to reason that he knew (from human history if from nothing else) that the Church would likely become corrupt and undermine its own authority in the process. He also knew that someone might capitalize upon this after his and Chihiro's deaths and so they took steps to neutralize such a threat as best they could. What I don't think they could've foreseen would be that Commodore Pei would have set the clock in Nimue's Cave for 750 Terran Years into the future as a way to evade the Gbaba and make sure that Nimue did not do something foolish (and terminal). Nor could they know how much advanced technology had been "lost" by the Commodore. It is possible that the War of the Fallen may well have been led (on the losers' side at least) by many of the sleeper agents Shan-wei had left behind. That would account for quite a few of them and it is possible that the command crew had captured some of them alive and interrogated them (harshly in all likelihood) and realized that there were others that had been reprogrammed. That would certainly have added to their perception of the threat to the plan. At the same time they probably thought to look for anyone who displayed "heretical" behavior (who would then have to be eliminated or at least "reprogrammed"). Given that, Jeremy Knowles approach of being as openly committed and devout to the Church (with only the most "subtle" philosophical difference) while leaving behind a journal and documents containing the truth in a time vault - to be opened only 450 years after his death - suddenly makes a lot of sense. And if this Cody was not traitorous to begin with, but rather a disaffected member of the command staff, then he would be privy to quite a lot of the internal details that would be of tremendous value to someone like Merlin and Nimue. It would also explain why his legacy managed to survive for so long. |

Thanks for the snippet! I like the threat in her words at the end She and her organisation could deal a big blow to Charis! I still wonder how well this Sisterhood would react to the truth. Personally I think Aivah's reaction would be a positive one (she seems to nurture some serious doubts about her religion, it's underlying many of her sentences in my opinion) but her Sisterhood seems to be not unified on certain points and I don't know how much they only want to reform using revolutionary ways because Clyntahn has to be removed or how much they truly are revolutionists, so it could be a big risk to reaveal the truth to them. So IF Aivah gets to know the truth they'll have to be sure she keeps it for herself (and to control that could be difficult knowing her skills, she could easily send a coded message and even if the SNARCs observed her they and their handlers wouldn't understand it). I'm very excited how this all turns out! Last edited by Boronian on Tue Sep 02, 2014 4:26 am, edited 1 time in total.

Ah - thank you
So much in such a little space - so much food for wild speculations! Perhaps she has Helm Cleaver on her person. what would happen if a battle steel sword got thru to a PICA? BTW that name sounds rather like one of the swords from the Hobbit or LOTR? |

I think all the ships had been pushed into the local star. Not sure if the command ship also was pushed into the sun after the rakurai hit the first time.
