Vampires we don need no stinken vampires! One wonders if some of the posters are smoking the things RFC swore he was not smoking when he wrote the "How Safehold Won't End" fan fic. Or is it that

Dragons are much more fun than vampires. :D

As for your second question, "We don't have to be mad to come here, but it helps".

SNIP

hmmmm, that doesn't feel as if it ties up with the last para in the snippet...

“I don’t know,” she told him very quietly, her eyes deep and dark in the fire-spangled bedchamber’s dimness, “but I’ve come to suspect that wherever you truly come from is also where all of the Adams and Eves who awoke here on Safehold on the Day of Creation truly came from, as well.”

she has a very clear understanding of a non-safehold origin of humanity, in absolute contradiction to the COGA teaching, so giving her the full truth is not going to disturb her that much I'd say.

If Aivah believes the Adams and Eves were created in Heaven and simply awaken on Safehold by the archangels, she would be devastated by the truth. That assumes she believes it. She believes in an active God that engages the world. The God described in the Writ would be difgicult for someone who truly believes to reconcile to Merlin's truth.

We don't know what Aivah believes yet. It is not a slam dunk that her belief system will cope with the truth to the satisfaction of Merlin et al.

Well considering it is the first chapter of the book, I doubt RFC is going to kill her off in the next half the chapter.

I think its going to blindside her. For someone who thinks of herself as so smart (in her case its fully justified) I imagine the whole Archangels is going to be a lie thing will trip her up.

Perhaps another inner circle of antiquity watching the Church and waiting for . . . . something or someone. Could she be part of a Group that is based on Sejin Khody’s legacy?

I like the idea that she could be trying to recruit Merlin for her conspiracy. Maybe a St. Zhernau equivalent finally decided Merlin could be trusted!

Count me among those who don't think Aivah will be the one blindsided. Merlin will be the one blindsided by how much she knows. Not an argument here... only my hunch.
