Certainly that is great news!!!

But don't get your hopes up for snippets by end of July.

Reading RFC's response carefully, I think he'll probably get the last chapter done by end of July. Then I believe he'll start all the extra material (maps, etc) plus some proofing and get that done by the end of August (at best).

THEN maybe sometime in September he'll start snippets.

But I also hope I'm wrong or RFC displays superhuman powers with snippets in August. ;)

Agree, I'm not planning to "bug" him until mid to late August. ;)

Sorry to hear Sharon's health is still a concern, hope that she is somewhat better as soon as may be. Grace and peace be with you all.

Remembering what happened with LAMA when the hand-in deadline got missed, i.e. a delay from September to February on the publishing date, maybe we shouldn't be holding our breath about seeing HFQ. I guess it will have missed its assigned slot in TOR's schedule and will have to wait till another comes free. RFC wrote on 24 July " I should be completely finished by the end of the month, at which time I will be considering when to start snippeting that book in Safehold." Not sure if he really means July or August there, but in any case it's not a promise of snippets soon, just that he will then be in a position to work out when to start them.

Since the manuscript is likely not to be handed in till the end of August, 4 months behind the original schedule, it may mean a publishing date a fair way into next year. :( :(

I'm guessing mid August if we are lucky, and late August/earl september as highly likely.

My birthday is August 18th, and I wouldn't mind a birthday surprise involving snippets.

Just saying. You know, tossing it out there all casual like. :D
