There is better and easier way to get access to hidden chamber, why don't we send few people in archbishop or vicar robes with weapon underneath. Will guards check if vicar is armed?
And if know where is this chamber road there will take you small amount of time if mustn't fight with every sentry, patrol and guard. Only problem could be sb from high echelons of priesthood because they know well everybody. But why don't shoot them with sleep dart or just hit them with sth. |

I think the difficulty with your idea ia that you could only do it once. After that the Temple Guard would be waiting for it. Father Paityr knows the way into the basement. We've debated here pretty hot and heavy about how to get into the basement and how quickly it should be done with no real resolution to the question. I see your new, so welcome and enjoy the forums. I dunno. There's like what? Only 2000 Vicars (assuming Clyntahn replaced the 200 he purged)? I think that might be small enough that they'd all be recognized on sight, and that a stranger would stand out. You MIGHT be able to get away with this with lesser Clergy though, but I'm not even sure that would work these days. |

So, you don't think that Iris could play with the toys in the cave? What about Madam Honda and the possible influence that Nemue might have on the population of young women that see a female Sinja.
I think that there is more that might be uncovered than the obvious weapons including better passive surveillance and that a member of the Temple Guard would get as far under the temple as any vicar; maybe further I also hope to see the next installment prior the holiday season Just my 2¢ Over and out [quote="lyonheart"]Hi Drak, Kudos! Excellent point! Personally the idea of Merlin, Cayleb, Sharleyan and the whole inner circle raising up young men like Hector or Paityr only to have to kill so many of them when they can't accept the full truth is a bit hard to accept. Just who fits the profile? Just my 2 ₡ worth

Hi C.O. Thompson,
Welcome to the forums, enjoy your favorite cg beverage on the cg house. Aside from being pregnant you mean? She's the princess of Corisande and rather too noticeable to get away to do any federation space marine training. While there are lots of tough Safehold women, including Nimue and Merlin, male guards' reactions may not take them seriously immediately like they would obviously dangerous males. That's just the Safehold society and culture, as RFC set it up that way. So take it up with him. L

Hi EvilAuthor,
Welcome to the forums, enjoy your favorite simulated beverage on the simulated forum. Clyntahn only purged a tenth not half of the vicarate, but all the vicars are probably known by face to the temple guards, being part of their job description, or able to recognise their friends among the vicar's guards etc, which all appear to have now, so lots of fresh faces and a vicar no one's ever heard of before would be highly suspicious to start with. Personally, because the arch angels didn't know there would be a PICA coming, I tend to doubt the temple is that primed to notice one, and I expect Nahrmahn to eventually try finding sensors that federation tech would ignore as hopelessly obsolete since its a hundred years out of date yet quite effective in spying out the temple. L

Lyonheart,
Two good points here: vicars will recognize each other but "under-priests and guards" could more easily infiltrate and impersonate. With Pytar's knowledge of the temple (presumed) and Owl/Nahrmahn's ability to generate a virtual for training, someone like Baron Green Valley could walk in <maybe on the night shift>, plant sensors and explosives and walk out. Heck, if he went in disguised as a janitor, no one would likely even notice Pyter. Also, unless David Weber plans to shake us all up by revealing the existence of a PICA that the archangels left behind, then you are probably safe to go on the thought that the sensors under the temple are not geared specifically for PICA, however; the 'stone of shuler' was tech that could detect the circuits so logically the sensors under the temple would me motion activated. Still reason to proceed with extreme caution Just my 2¢ Over and out [quote="lyonheart"]Hi EvilAuthor, Welcome to the forums, enjoy your favorite simulated beverage on the simulated forum. ... or able to recognize their friends among the vicar's guards etc, which all appear to have now, so lots of fresh faces and a vicar no one's ever heard of before would be highly suspicious to start with. 300 vicars is about right. The Wylsyns' circle was about 30 vicars and textev puts it at 10% of the vicarate.

I went back and rechecked my numbers.
Turns out, ~200 is the number of people that She-Of-Many-Names smuggled out of Zion. It's 30 Vicars that's a tenth of the Vicarate. I wonder how I got those numbers confused... |
