UPDATE: As of July 30th as per a developer post, Green Level Booster II were added to the Breslau outpost and the Mission 30 Warnecke/Willis was made easier.
Stuck at mission 30 Honor Among Thieves (Warnecke/Willis) Also have similar problems with this week Medium boss (final wave). This is after the July 10th patch which removed lots of components sold at the outposts (see my post in message 'http://forums.davidweber.net/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=5765&start=40' for the first 4 sector outposts). I recently started playing the game and after reading many posts and strats, it seems the fact that the outposts contents changed quite a bit the game is now harder / requires more farming / more luck. First I got stuck at the first encounter of the Breslau sector and after reading some forum post I decided to start over from scratch realizing I needed Level Booster only sold in Nemea Sector 1 (as of July 10th patch). I might have quit based on this but since I am a Honor fan I didn't, but I'm afraid hundreds will quit. This time around I bought and leveled 20 white Level Booster I, that can ONLY be bought in Nemea the first sector (and NONE available in at least the first 4 sectors now). After dozens of hours of farming and upgrading, here is what I could gather to fight Warnecke/Willis at the Mission 30 Honor Among Thieves. I did get 5 Legendary drop, one was to make plasma, and 4 had the bug that it was empty (no metal, plasma.. and that's after the patch said it was fixed). Any suggestions? All items below are leveled to max (based on Officer Level 10). Heck, I might buy some components with real money... but quite expensive and you can't choose what department the item will be for... I might swap a Payload Amplifier for another Weapons disruptor.
What are your tactics for the Warnecke fight? -------------------------

Honestly I'd avoid trying to wipe out his weapons, in this particular case. I'd focus on your defense and as much hull damage as possible.

Are you using staggered launches or firing all your launchers at once?
I usually stagger my launches so that no more than one launcher worth of missiles is in one of their defense zones at a time |

The Weapons Disruptors don't stack right. Adding a second significantly reduces the weapons damage you're dealing. Better to spend resources on hellfires if you want to knock back his weapons. Aside from that I'm not sure what to say. The equipment Kheldan has, or that's available to him, is well below what I had either of the two times I took a ship past Warnecke. But simply grinding and hoping for better drops isn't fun for everyone... |

Finally got him after many tries.
And with the limited stuff posted above pretty much aside from maybe 2-3 small changes. I did get to pick the Weapon Damage Bonus which might have helped (or not as I used lots of BPL anyway). Basically the first 2 salvo were scattered hull penetrator as they don't really matter he will roll. Then I sent only Hellfire until his weapons were down, then I would not take a chance and alway sent 1 volley of hellfire and one of MK13-BPL non stop for a while, then I did replace BPL with hull penetrator once in a while but always kept sendind hellfire. So it is doable, BUT for this I had to start the game over (good thing first playthough I didn't use my GameCenter account!), buy 20 white Level Booster I in the first sector, then farm for dozens of hours for the blue items I got above (as no usefull blue are sold in the first 4 sectors), I only got 1 useful purple (out of 2) and only the legendary Plasma maker out of 5 (4 having been bugged completely empty). This encounter need to either be re-balanced or the outpost need to sell useful items to prepare for it (with Level Booster available!). |

Gah, and now with the 3rd tubes and way more missiles in action at a time, the game is barely playable on an iPhone 4 ios7

I have a Galaxy S5 and have similar issues. If I restart the app it gets better. |

An iPhone 4 is pretty old. The Retina screen upgrade over the 3GS with no corresponding upgrade in graphics processing really hurt it.

As I said, it is playable, but barely, I am sure they could either optimize or maybe add a low setting option to remove some of the particle effects or something. Not much would be needed to have a better play experience on older devices. I hope to have Evergreen Studios successful to have the Honorverse become even more popular with many movies! |
