OK - first time post, after lurking here for years and having (I think) every single DW book on my shelves; just wanted to say I'm loving some of these suggestions and hope that RFC will take note!

Welcome aboard.

Well, we know (sorta) that he reads them.
He can't ever acknowledge that he is aware of / approves of any specific suggestions, due to rather dangerous issues of intellectual property claim potential.

The last volume of the series -- oh, I used the "L" word -- is, of course, Honor Victorious. The cover features her, her husband, her other spouse, and their children playing baseball. With exploding spaceships in the sky.

New reader, just browsing the forums and *far* from caught up on the happenings of the Honorverse, but I think I have a decent grasp on what's going on. That's my formal apology in advance for any apple carts I may bump into. That said---

Welcome to the forums. First virtual drink is on the virtual house.

Some things you should know:

Do not ever mention TWTMNBN (The Weapon That Must Not Be Named = Grav Lance)

Do not ever mention HACs (Heavy Attack Craft - basically upscaled LACs)

Ignore skimper. :mrgreen:

Have fun reading the Honorverse Favorite Passages and One-Liners threads - and add some of your own, even if they've already been posted. They're for *your* favorite passges, and sometimes your likes will coincide with someone else's.

Look at the links in my signature and marvel at my mad 3D skillz. ;)

Develop a thick skin - it gets a little nuts in here occasionally.

Search the Pearls before asking a question. Chances are, it might have already been answered: http://infodump.thefifthimperium.com/series/Harrington/

David Weber posts here under the runsforcelery moniker.

But most of all, have fun

Thank you kindly, I'll keep all of that in mind! Really enjoying the beautiful chaos of the 'verse thus far. This is the first space opera that's ever grabbed my attention, and it did so forcefully and by the throat, no less, so I have to applaud Mr. Weber for that. Thanks again and cheers. :)

PS. Very nice 3D work-- color me impressed.

MaxxQ: You forgot to mention don't bother discussing frigates (FF) for 1st rank navies.

For massdriver and everyone else (newcomers especially) as well:

A LOT (if not all) of information that David Weber has posted on these forums (as runsforcelery) has never made it into the Pearls of Weber (either the thefifthimperium.com website or the duplicate listing in the FAQs menu at the top of the page of davidweber.net, or both. Use the search function on this site to find them.

Also the rule on posting spoilers is that until a new book has been available for sale in its first printing (nowadays usually as a hardback) for one month any new topic should have spoiler in the thread title. If the thread is not a spoiler, but your reply is, put spoiler space in it so others who do not want the book surprises spoiled for them can jump over your post.
