The Safehold map that is zoomable to several magnifications (i.e. the one that uses Zoomify) that is usually found at
http://infodump.thefifthimperium.com/en ... hold/338/0
hasn't worked since Friday. This is basically the only truly useful map for the series. Does anyone know what's up with that? Can this be fixed? I assume that someone at Tor or one of DW's people takes care of such things. I assume and think that I read that someone like that monitors this site. If so, HI. Please fix this invaluable resource asap. Thanks
Here's some info on error...

The link leads to a page with multiple error messages. As follows:

It's not just the map and not just the Safehold site--it's the entire fifthimperium.com website.

Thanks for the quick reply-
So is that a good thing or a bad thing for those of us that count on that map to enhance the experience. In other words, does that bode well for the repair of the link - is that site well maintained or just a thrown together fansite, (no offense to those who throw those sites together - but you usually have lives and can't drop everything to repair a broken link...)?
I don't suppose there's any way to get that Zoomify version into the Safehold Wikia?... It would be really helpful there. The map links on that wiki are pretty weak and usually lead to non-zoomable scans from the maps in the books, often with the page breaks in the middle of them.
I'm finding that really understanding the geography of the various action spots really enhances the experience and I'm in the middle of rereading the whole series using that map extensively and, wouldn't you know it... the friggin thing goes down. Murphy was an optimist...
I don't suppose that there are good fan maintained Safehold maps anywhere are there? Even DW's maps can leave something to be desired... I was trying to follow the Corisande Campaign and even at top zoom I couldn't find Harel's Crossing or Priory, or even the Talbor Pass...
Has anyone of the military history types that are Safehold fans Done battle maps?

Any info to good Safehold maps in a reply to this thread would be deeply appreciated.
Thanks.

The author of the fifthimperium website is not just any fan, but Joe Buckley, a confidant of David Weber and one of the few who have had access to the Honorverse Tech Bible. I believe he got the zoomify map directly from David. Joe has been notified of the problem. I feel confident that it will be fixed soon.
