Besides SciFi? The ARRL Radio Amateur's Handbook. CISPR 16. 47 CFR part 15. Usually only technical crap for work.

I used to read Alistair MacLean: HMS Ulysses, When Eight Bells Toll, etc. (Hmm. I just checked his Wikipedia entry; there's a lot I haven't read.) I read some Clive Cussler, and I've read Tom Clancy, among others.

My "library" includes all of his books. :o

And those two are among the best. Sure i liked them much more in the past, but some of his are still pretty darn decent.
An often rather underappreciated author i think.

Oh, I don't know about his being under appreciated; a lot of his books were made into movies.

Yeah, but the books are often looked down at, as just "mindless trashy action".

If you like Alister MacLean you will probably also like Wilbur Smith (South African author), similar action style. Both authors are somewhat unusual in that their earlier books are better than their later ones.

Besides sci-fi. Oh lots. Fantasy, alternative history, historiographies, social sciences journals, hard sciences journals, news media, m/m romances, urban fantasy. I'd rather read than watch television or movies.

Mostly Medical Stuff Related To An RN And CORT

I'm a retarded, er, retired Registered Nurse. To keep abreast of all the current going ons in the field, I usually read cover to cover the three main medical nursing journals I subscribe to, plus all the usual stuff from the usual nursing organizations like from hospitals, friends, ex employers, governments, groups, etc..

Even though I do not expect to ever work again, it is still gratifying for me to keep up with all the new stuff. One never knows. I also have a somewhat current CORT certificate which also needs the usual reading and stuff. Between the two I still have plenty of time to read good Science Fiction Space Opera shoot 'um ups.

HB of CJ (old coot) I also do not watch TV...at all. Have not in over 20 years now. That makes me a rare bird indeed. :) Now a full Commander! I love this cool forum ... much to do about nothing. :)
